Grammy Award Winning Artist H.E.R and Grammy Nominated Artist Rapsody join us on Love From A Distance in celebration of Black Music Month.Love From A Distance welcomes 2x Grammy winner Gabriella Wilson, known as H.E.R. The now 22 year old sent shockwaves through the music industry in 2016 with only a silhouette and an EP - Volume 1. She’s continued to surprise and delight listeners with new music and by leading the charge in revitalizing R&B. We talk about using her voice to elevate the message of social injustice, her musical inspirations, and the story behind her latest Instagram Live series, Girls With Guitars.

We are also happy to announce our closing guest, Grammy nominated artist Marlanna “Rapsody” Evans. In her most recent project, Eve, each song is named for an influential black woman, including Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Myrlie Evers, and Aaliyah. Rapsody decided to write the album in 2018 when a writer asked her if she felt that she was a successor to Nina Simone and Roberta Flack. She crafted an album with each song dedicated to one of her heroes. We speak about her musical influences, her socially conscious lyrics that take on systemic racism, as well as how she finds space to create with so much going on in the world.

Recorded in June 2020
