Medics didn't tell officers about anything out of the ordinary, and a police report didn't indicate any suspicious circumstances or anything criminal in nature at the scene, an official said.

This is Helen Steinbach. She is the President of the East Chicago Teachers Union. She claims to be having secret backroom meetings with East Chicago Schools superintendent Dee Etta Wright to protect teachers from Covid-19. I think the only thing she protects in any backroom deals with the East Chicago Administration is herself. She seems perfectly willing to send teachers into overcrowded classrooms even if they have underlying health conditions or are in the "at risk age" population. Worst part is her mother recently died from Covid-19. You would think old Helen would be a champion for teachers but it appears she is about as tough with the school administration as Trump is with the Alt Right nuts.

EC School superintendent Dee Etta Wright has turned out to be the enemy of teachers. She insists on putting high risk teachers in overfilled classrooms starting next week as a trial before everyone comes back into the buildings in October. Some classes have 30-45 kids in them because so many teachers have quit, retired or they can't get licensed qualified teachers to fill vacancies. Nobody wants to come work for Dee Etta Wright. She has quickly made her reputation a poor one. Parents don't like her, students don't like her and teachers don't like her.
