The BBC is recognised by audiences in the UK and around the world as a provider of news that you can trust. Our website, like our TV and radio services, strives for journalism that is accurate, impartial, independent and fair.
Our editorial values say: "The trust that our audience has in all our content underpins everything that we do. We are independent, impartial and honest. We are committed to achieving the highest standards of accuracy and impartiality and strive to avoid knowingly or materially misleading our audiences.
"Our commitment to impartiality is at the heart of that relationship of trust. In all our output we will treat every subject with an impartiality that reflects the full range of views. We will consider all the relevant facts fairly and with an open mind."
Research shows that, compared to other broadcasters, newspapers and online sites, the BBC is seen as by far the most trusted and impartial news provider in the UK [PDF] .
Even so, we know that identifying credible journalism on the internet can be a confusing experience. We also know that audiences want to understand more about how BBC journalism is produced.
For these reasons, BBC News is making even greater efforts to explain what type of information you are reading or watching on our website, who and where the information is coming from, and how a story was crafted the way it was. By doing so, we can help you judge for yourself why BBC News can be trusted.
We are also making these indicators of trustworthy journalism "machine-readable", meaning that they can be picked up by search engines and social media platforms, helping them to better identify reliable sources of information too.

Lionel Messi's second-half strike against 10-man Granada gave new coach Quique Setien a winning start at Barcelona, but it was not a convincing display by the La Liga champions.

Barca had more than 80% of the possession, but the build-up was often slow and ponderous at the Camp Nou. Setien's tactics for Barcelona's attack was to try to go through the middle of the backline, but more often than not they were suffocated by a well-drilled defence.

That defence lost a man when German Sanchez was shown a second yellow in the 69th minute for a foul on Messi, and seven minutes later Barcelona were ahead.

The home side persisted with the tactic of going through the middle as the Argentine linked up with Antoine Griezmann; he found Arturo Vidal, whose drag-back teed up Messi to stroke home.

It was a moment of vintage Barcelona, and the win puts them back on top of La Liga - ahead of Real Madrid on goal difference.

Setien celebrated enthusiastically after the goal and on the final whistle, six days after replacing Ernesto Valverde at the Catalan club.

The 61-year-old, who signed a two-and-a-half-year deal, had been out of work since he left Real Betis in the summer. He enhanced his reputation at the Seville side by leading them to sixth place and qualification for the Europa League.

Relive the action from Camp Nou
Barcelona created very few other good chances. Teenager Ansu Fati, who started in a front three with Messi and Griezmann, had two early efforts, one of which resulted in a superb save from Rui Silva. And in the second half Messi's low strike struck the side-netting.

Granada spent most of the match defending, but a brief spell after the break saw them go close to scoring when Yan Eteki's firm low strike came off the post.

Barcelona's next match is a Copa del Rey quarter-final match at Ibiza on Wednesday.

Arsenal have been given the green light to come get Ajax Amsterdam midfield star Hakim Ziyech. The Dutch side has told the London club that the Moroccan international is free to leave the 2018/2019 season Uefa Champions League Semi-finalist.

The gooners had their hopes of signing the 26-years-old midfielder dashed in the last summer transfer window, however it is reported that Arsenal new boss have resuscitated the club's interest in the skillful midfielder. Ajax Amsterdam are said to be ready to welcome transfer discussion with asking price set at the minimum of 43 million pounds.

Hakim was a crucial p**s in Ajax Amsterdam exceptional run in the Uefa Champions League last season, helping the Dutch side reach the semi-final stage. And with Mesut Ozil inconsistency in recent times, Arsenal have been suffering from creativity and pinpoint support for the front man; and Hakim possesses great playmaking qualities that could proffer solution to this problem. The Moroccan qualities is evident in his record this season, having played part in 28 of 83 goals scored by Ajax this season(8 goals 21 assists).

Even though it is obvious that Arsenal are in deer need of personnel at the defense , acquiring a player with such quality and form as Hakim would be a laudable transfer point for Arteta. Arsenal sits in an unacceptable position on the log, and the fans will welcome any addition that will shoot them up the premier league table.

Many phone users tend to complain that their device’s batteries discharge quickly. They also typically blame the product manufacturer for this issue; however, the manufacturer isn’t always at fault. Here are some five mistakes that users typically make when charging their phones.
Waiting for the Battery to reach low levels before charging
Avoid waiting for your battery to reach a critically low level before charging. The effect of this on your phone battery is not immediate, but over time it begins to manifest and it eventually stresses out your phone battery (yes, batteries get stressed too) and shortens the battery life. Think of your battery as a human body, you really don’t need to wait until you’re about to die before you rest and eat to recharge yourself.
Keeping your phone case on while charging
Your phone typically emits heat when charging. To avoid exposing your device to ambient temperatures, it’s advisable to remove the phone case while charging your phone so that the heat emitted from your phone while charging can escape. This way you can prevent your device from becoming hotter and potentially overheating when charging. Charging your battery at uncomfortable temperatures can permanently damage battery capacity.
