And now, a message from Kat:

So, the word is out. I’m not sure what to do with Crush Worthy. I built it from scratch with Micaela, and we agreed at the very beginning that the moment it stopped being fun, we wouldn’t torture ourselves by forcing it. Micaela took the necessary steps she needed to to preserve her well-being, and I don’t want anyone to think we’re not still very close friends or that we had creative differences or anything, because we’re *absolutely* good with each other. I’m proud of her for taking care of herself; it’s what we always urge people to do on our show. I love her to death and I will greatly miss working with her, but I’m also cheering for her. I’ll always be cheering for her.

In the meantime, the show is in my hands and once again on hiatus. I may move forward and try to find another cohost. I may begin a new project and try new things. I don’t know. If CW continues on, Micaela will always have a place for her if she wants to come back. If I bring on another cohost, we will make sure to have room for Micaela’s potential return. Regardless, I’ll need a bit of time to mindmap and workshop. Thank you to all of our friends and family for the constant support through it all. It means so much to both Micaela and I that we’ve had a small but important impact on the pod-verse.

Whatever happens, I will keep everyone informed as soon as I know what’s going to happen.

Keep on crushin’ it! 💕
-Kat

Hello to all of our friends and family!

It’s Micaela, here. Life has moved pretty fast for me in these last few months. But recently, my day-to-day responsibilities and obligations have ramped up dramatically, spiking significant levels of stress and anxiety. It has come to a point where, at the end of the day, I have nothing mentally left to give.

So, it’s with a heavy heart that I’m announcing my departure from Crush Worthy indefinitely. This is not a decision I make lightly, as this show has brought me so much joy from the very beginning. But right now, I just can’t dedicate the time and attention it deserves while also maintaining my mental health.

After talking this through with Kat, she has decided to put the show back on hiatus while she reassesses what direction, if any, she would like to take it from here. I know that whatever decision she makes in the end will be the right one. And if at some point she decides to forge on ahead without me, you best believe that I will be her biggest fan and most avid listener

We are heartbroken to learn of our collective, profound loss. Ruth Bader Ginsburg changed the country and the world. Words aren’t enough, but we hope we can embrace and build upon the foundation that Ruth laid down for us while she was with us. We are forever grateful 💕

We’re Ba-aaack!

This week, we temporarily abandon our typical format to talk a bit about what we’ve been doing during our hiatus. It would’ve been irresponsible for us to gloss over the events of the past several months in the Unites States and ignore them. Next week, we will return to our normal format.

05/06/2020

Due to the pandemic, we have been pretty quiet these last few months. While we’re not quite ready to return from hiatus, we firmly stand behind the Black Lives Matter movement, and we condemn the atrocious, inexcusable police brutality that stems from the United States’ history of systemic racism and white supremacy.

As white women, we are committed to the continuous process of growth as we work to unlearn the insidious ways racism has influenced our thinking. We acknowledge that this is a life-long process. We also acknowledge that this should go without saying. And, really, it is the very LEAST that every white person should be doing.

On our show, we like to talk a lot about the insurgents, the rebel spies, the freedom fighters, and the revolutionaries. If the lives of Maya Angelou, Josephine Baker, Audre Lorde, Sophie Scholl, and Virginia Hall have taught us anything it’s that civil unrest and political action are vital to social change. So, we stand in solidarity with the protesters around the country (and world) fighting for equality and justice. If you’re on the frontlines, please stay safe.

We love you.

1. VIRGINIA HALL

The Most Dangerous of All Allied Spies

During World War II, Virginia Hall operated as a secret agent and master of disguise for the newly established British Special Operations Executive. On the ground in occupied France, she built a dense network of citizen resistance operatives willing to fight the oppressive N**i regime. And she did it all with a wooden prosthetic leg which she fondly called Cuthbert!

Today is Trans Day of Visibility!

"“From the political arena to the entertainment and business worlds, the historic visibility of transgender and non-binary people is providing hope and inspiration to countless young people across the nation and around the world. Despite the discriminatory efforts of anti-equality politicians, transgender and non-binary people continue to bravely share their stories, boldly claim their seats at the table and persistently push equality forward. As we celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility, we must never forget those who still feel invisible even in their own communities and fear discrimination or violence could lurk around any corner, and we must resolve to fight for a world where every transgender and non-binary person is respected and protected.”
-Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin

Visibility is power✊
