"Catoctin Creek Hot Honey Rye is a reprise of a very popular Barrel Select offering we did in 2022, and now we're introducing it as a permanent line extension.

When you take our beautiful, potstilled 100% rye whisky, and you add three types of local Virginia honey (wildflower, clover, and buckwheat) and an infusion of chile peppers, you get something amazing. Because we use real honey, the aroma and flavor of honey are dominant in this whisky, and the honey gives a very pleasant viscosity/mouth feel.
Just as you're savoring the whisky, the peppers come in with a surprising and delightful bit of heat. Smooth and sweet, with a ZING! This is a fun one!

Catoctin Creek will donate $1 for every bottle sold to local and national organizations that help conserve bees."

Only one in every ten barrels gets selected to be in the Roundstone Rye "92 Proof" whisky - making this expression extra special.

"This whisky is the culmination of several years of planning. 'For a few years now, we've been putting whisky away for storage,' remarked Becky Harris, Chief Distiller and President of Catoctin Creek Distilling Company. 'We pulled some of the more interesting barrels from the back of the warehouse and decided to release these at a higher proof: a whisky specially curated for flavor, while still being remarkably smooth, as is our existing 80 proof Roundstone.'

'We are very excited about this new product,' said Scott Harris, Founder and General Manager of Catoctin Creek. 'We discussed this new product with customers like Jack Rose Whisky Saloon, The Passenger, and our distributors, and all agreed that this would be a great new product for the distillery. And what's cool, since we're a small distillery, we can be responsive to this kind of market input.'"

"Roundstone Rye is a very unique rye whisky, made completely from scratch at our distillery in Purcellville, Virginia. This pre-Prohibition style rye whisky is made from 100% rye grain, sourced locally when available. It is mashed, fermented, distilled and aged completely in our distillery, before bottling it at a very sippable 80 proof. Aged in new charred white oak casks for a period of around two years, the whisky is smooth, woody, with that full-bodied fruity-nutty grain flavor typical of a Virginia rye whisky. Roundstone Rye has a delicious woody taste, with notes of caramel, rich butter toffee, and just a hint of lemon in the nose."

"Our founder, Chris, spent his formative years working in the commercial poultry industry raising laying hens. That childhood part-time job evolved into a commitment to agriculture, and later a career in a large scale poultry operation. After moving on from that job, he still felt the need to stay involved with animal husbandry, and since his wife, Emily, wasn’t too keen on a flock of chickens in their backyard, bees seemed like the natural option. One hive turned into many, and before long, the idea was borne to distill spirits out of raw Wisconsin honey."
