Ground Zero Research has once again predicted correctly the outcome of west Bengal Elections. This was achieved due to brilliant field work done by our team members despite limited resource availability primarily due to Covid pandemic.

Ground Zero Research Team would like to thank from the core of heart all the respondents who gave their objective political opinion in these testing times to gauge the mood of the Voters.

Ground Zero Research Team is the first Research Company which congratulated in advance the incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for leading her party to victory for the third consecutive occasion, thus setting in process the unique record of becoming the first female to become Chief Minister for third consecutive time.

This was Ground Zero Research Team’s first big assignment. Team has already started its next assignment in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab, for which elections are due in 2022. Ground report of ten districts (Puraba Mednipur, Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura, South- 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, Cooch Behar and Alipurduar) where polling completed in First Phase to Fourth phase of Elections.

* Paschim Mednipur- BJP is likely to repeat its 2019 Performance.

* Purab Mednipur- BJP is likely to improve its performance in comparison to 2019 elections. TMC is likely to lose some assembly seats to BJP where the party took lead in 2019 elections.

* Jhargram- BJP is not likely to repeat its 2019 Performance and TMC is likely to perform very well in Jhargram district.

* Purulia- In 2019 elections, BJP was leading in eight assembly seats out of nine seats. BJP is going to win more seats than TMC in Purulia district but not likely to repeat its 2019 performance.
Congress is likely to open its account in Purulia district.

* Bankura- Bankura's condition is similar to Purulia. In 2019 elections, BJP was leading in all twelve assembly seats. BJP is going to win more seats than TMC but not likely to repeat its 2019 performance. TMC is likely to win the seats where the Left would have contested well.

* South 24- Parganas- TMC is likely to save its bastion. In 2019 elections, TMC was leading in all 31 assembly constituencies. TMC is likely to repeat 2019 performance but may lose 3 to 5 seats in worst case scenario.

* Howrah- In 2019 elections, TMC was leading in eleven seats out of sixteen seats. BJP took lead in one assembly constituency. There is a possibility of a situation in Howrah district like 2019 elections.

* Hooghly- In 2019 elections, BJP was leading in eight seats out of 18 seats. There is a possibility of a situation in Hooghly almost like 2019 elections. BJP may either win or lose one to three seats more than 2019 elections in Hooghly District.

* Alipurduar- BJP was leading in all five seats in 2019 elections. BJP is likely to win all five assembly constituencies of Alipurduar district and may lose one seats in worst case scenario.

* Cooch Behar- BJP is going to win more seats than TMC in Cooch Behar. In 2019 elections, BJP was leading in seven seats out of nine seats in Cooch Behar district.

And most important point that Cooch Behar can surprise us and Its totally depend on community wise voting% to the Parties...

To form the Government in Bengal, BJP will have to increase the vote share as compared to what it had got in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

There are two ways in which it is possible:
First:- Left and Congress perform poor than 2019 elections.

Second:- BJP retains its vote share from 2019 and also gets some sneaks into the vote bank of AITC.

INC has been confined to two districts- Murshidabad and Malda. And they are trying their best to safeguard the fort.

Left can get the better votes from all over Bengal, especially from the areas of Trade Union influence and where they have fielded young as well as well known veteran candidates, who are posing as alternative of AITC/BJP.

‘Image’ of Left has been of a party which protests, fights and contests on streets. The 34 years of Left rule in Bengal did not produce the fighters, but most of the Left leaders emerged as armchair thinkers and who enjoyed the power. As they are out of power for 10 years in Bengal and have lost not only the voters but also the cadre. This election is a question of existence for them. This is very much prevalent in their ticket distribution.

In the final seat tally, Left+INC may appear insignificant. But, in the same seat tally, who possess the first and second position, Left+INC may be the deciding factor.

If Left gets more votes than 2019 elections, it will make a dent in the BJP’s vote share, AITC will have fun. If they perform poor, BJP will enjoy.
So, keep an eye on the performance of Left+.
