Bioluminescence Kayaking-Salty Sound Bioluminescence is the production and emission of light by a living organism. On dark (moonless) nig This means to get there its a short paddle across the bay.

On dark (moonless) nights on Tomales Bay, bluish white flickers are visible in the water column, which come from blooms of bioluminescent “dinoflagellates”. These tiny creatures emit short flashes of light when disturbed, and at certain times of the year put on quite a show for kayakers. Schools of fish in the bay create a phosphorescent trail which can look like a glowing cloud in the water. On J

uly 30th Salty Sound and Blue water Kayaking are collaborating on a bioluminecence Kayaking trips. Blue Water Kayaking are running the kayaking trips with there expereince and veteran staff. Its a 24 hour camping trip located on a kayak only group camp site. It is not the most challenging paddle, and most people are fully capable of accomplishing it. I do however require that you are comfortable in the water. Its a great time, and a hidden gem. Come eat, come drink, come play. The cost of this trip is around $200 but worth every cent
