Wala sana akong balak panuorin to pero.. (Contains spoilers)
Nakikita ko tong anime na to sa mga anime groups and pages as a meme. I thought it's one of those e***i (s*xy, naughty, risque, and/or flirty) animes kaya wala sana akong balak panuorin to pero.. I saw a suggested video about animes worthy to be watched at least once. Sabi sa isang comment, this anime is not what it looks like and it's actually beautiful so I gave it a try.
Synopsis: This anime is about Yoshida, a 26 year old regular salary man coming home drunk kasi that night he was rejected when he confessed his admiration to his crush, his boss. On his way home, this scene happened. Nakita nya si Sayu, a runaway Highschool girl looking for a place to stay. He took her in and Sayu seduced her multiple times but despite of him being drunk, he refused. The next day he woke up in shock seeing the girl in his house since wala sya memory about the night before.
Napatanong ako sa sarili ko. It's not like this will happen in real life but what if ako yung nasa sitwasyon ni Yoshida? Will I take her in? Madadala ba ako sa seductions ni Sayu? It's hard to say but this gave me a firmer stand na hindi dapat.
As I go deeper into the story, apparently Sayu is running away from a screw up situation at home bukod pa sa mommy issues nya. Di nya alam kung ano hinahanap nya, all she knows is she needs to keep running because she thinks it is better for everyone. She met men who took her in and took advantage of her situation asking for s*x. But Yoshida is different. All he asked is for her to do house chores (just for the sake Sayu won't feel bad na nakikitira sya for free) and every time na i-seseduce sya ni Sayu, he would refuse. It may seem na Sayu is the only one benefiting from the situation but the story highlights the benefits Yoshida is getting. Mas maayos ang bahay nya at nagkagana sya sa buhay at trabaho.
To cut the story short, Sayu was able to go back home, worked a better relationship with her mom, continued studying, and was able to finish it and a happy ending.
My take:
Sayu was in a hellhole. Dahil hindi nya alam ano ang kelangan nya gawin at ano ang kelangan nya, lumalala lang sitwasyon nya. Jumping from one man's house to another, sleeping around. Kung hindi nya nameet si Yoshida, she might have met worst things. What I realized here is, there is no rock bottom. We can always make things worse and like Sayu, may mga tao na di alam pano makakaalis sa pag lubog and they need saving.
So if ever you had the chance to help someone drowning (di man sa similar situation), will you be like the previous men who took Sayu in? Or will you be like Yoshida?
Let's all be like Yoshida. Maybe it will just take a single act of kindness for someone to get back on their feet. Maybe that help is the only thing someone needs to make turn their life around. Maybe your saving is what they need to get out of their hellhole.
Sometimes, it doesn't need much to save a life. Trust me, we can all be keepers.
