Hear ye, Hear ye....now that I have your attention.

Allow me to introduce you to the final issue of Troos Magazine, Vol 2. From Jan - September, beautiful people have graced the cover of our magazine, and now it's time to end with a bang.

Everyone knows them, and everyone loves them; it's The Band Untitled. I asked them a few questions that I think the people want to know, and so in order to find the answers you need, you have to order the issue.

Friends, something major has gone down. Troos Magazine and The Fisher Project's founder, Tiffany Fisher, united, and from that meeting, we give you The July (Celebration) Issue of Troos Mag.

We are celebrating safe spaces for women and mentorship for our adolescent girls. We celebrate bosses coming together to sit on a non-profit board and make it happen. We celebrate the voice of God guiding us to walk in his will and our purpose, and we celebrate the work of Tiffany Fisher.

It's the May Issue, so we traveled to lovely RVA (Richmond, VA) to spend time with Author Gwyn RC Moses: mom, author, poet, artist, and letter chaser.

She is the second member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, to grace the cover of Troos Magazine, but the first person to write a book at the age of ten, only to have it published twenty-plus years later. Today, she stands proudly, having authored ten titles and completed six collaborative works. She is also an alumna of two HBCUs - Virginia Union University & Virginia State University.

Anytime I have to speak in front of a crowd, to ease my nerves, I often choose a sole focal point - the exit sign. That way, I don't see facial expressions that may throw me off or signal that my presentation isn't enjoyable or informative.

I challenge you to find your focal point and let it cruise you through the week. Monday and Tuesday invariably start well; Wednesdays are when the issues begin showing up, but our emotions are all over the place by Thursday and Friday. As a result, we are searching for flights to a non-existent island.

What can I use as a focal point? How about scriptures to recite or a song to sing? Utilize your focal point with the arrival of distractions, disappointment, sadness, and anger (a few to name). I love to hear CeCe Winans sing "Goodness of God, " which helps put things in perspective. God has consistently been good to my son and me: great, good, bad, and ugly.

It's ok to have challenging days and to feel the emotion associated with them, but don't forget who holds your hand through it all. Remember - Have Faith.

This past weekend I attended a women's conference and noticed how my aunt was so complimentary of others. It left quite an impression on me, and I thought, what if everyone adopted that same approach?

I challenge you to fill this week with compliments to yourself and others. Watch their response and also notice how it makes you feel.
Remember, compliments are a way to SPREAD LOVE!
