🌿Following up the successful implementation of the CELEBio project, the Central European Initiative - CEI is now reaching out to research centres and universities in the region and beyond to promote a joint knowledge dissemination event with EERA Bioenergy.

💚EERA Bioenergy is one of the 17 Joint Programmes of the European Energy Research Alliance, which is is a non-profit Association that contributes to the coordination of a massive public research effort to develop more efficient and cheaper low carbon energy technologies. EERA is the public research pillar of the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) and aims at accelerating the development and market uptake of key low carbon technologies.

🌳The “BOOSTING THE R&D&I COLLABORATION WITH EASTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES: THE KEY ROLE OF EERA BIOENERGY” webinar aims at broadening the participation of research stakeholders from the CEI Region to EERA Bioenergy with the ultimate goal of boosting their participation in forerunning projects and initiatives in the field of sustainable energy and decarbonisation.

We have been involved in the assessment of the bioeconomic potential within the Czech Republic through a European funded project, CELEBio. One of our findings is that there is a great untapped potential for a transformation in the economic practices of the country, which would be in-line with the EU Green Deal. The idea that the nascent innovation opportunities in the Czech Republic would be revealed through the bioeconomy, or bio-sourced primary materials which are converted to marketable products, is an area would could spark a revitalization in the economy, especially after the COVID situation is resolved.

Agenda for CELEBio session at , 9 July

Fostering bioeconomy in Central, East and South-East Europe. The experience of CELEBio project, https://celebio.eu/ in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia and Bulgaria.

The event aims at highlighting the contribution of CELEBio project to strengthening the landscape in . In particular, updated quantitative biomass data will be presented as well as the structure of bio-based value chains. CELEBio partners will also engage with the public in a workshop session on how to tackle non-technical barriers hindering full-fledged development of . The event will also be an opportunity for representatives of the Bioeconomy community to interact with qualified interlocutors from the six CELEBio target countries. In order to foster the transition to Bieoconomy and set the grounds for future collaborations between leading EU and local actors, the Central Europe LEaders in Bioeconomy (CELEBio) project assessed biomass potentials, mapped Bioeconomy stakeholders and set-up a network of national info points. https://lnkd.in/ewm5K67
