I have an interview with Mobile Gaming Unlimited that will be posted next week! Here's a sneak peek of it! My 5 best tips on how to get better at PUBGM 👀

MGU: What are your top 5 tips on someone that wants to get better at PUBGm?

FORTYTWO: 1. Avoid feelings of superiority – if you think you're better than the majority of people, then that will stop potential growth. For me, that constant feeling of not being good enough fuels me to want to try harder, do more, and get better. The downside is I don’t celebrate the little victories, I just kind of wake up every once in a while and say “holy s**t, I'm killing it!”

2. Try new controls, options, tactics, settings, guns, and teammates – it’s super good to nail down good control schemes, settings, have favorite guns you can rely on and ride or die teammates, but I strongly encourage you to mix it up when possible. You might find better alternatives by accident.

3. Don’t give up – it’s extremely easy to want to smash your phone or tablet out of frustration because you can’t even get 1 kill that day, it happens to everyone. See if you can figure out what’s going on and what the issue might be. Is it your connection? Your mood? Are you too tired to be playing well? Or is it a more permanent thing you need to fix, maybe switch up some controls or teammates? Either way, it’s not a bad lifetime, just a bad few games and it will pass.

4. Watch the pros and learn from them – we all have idols in life. For me, mine is Genj1 Gaming and Sixless for gameplay and McCoffee (now known simply as Coffee) for streaming and interactions. Some people idolize CaLm, ZenPro, Yajd, Demers, it all depends who you click with and who you want to resemble. Find who that person is for you, and watch them. Learn their methods, tactics, and gameplay. When you're doubting your abilities, ask yourself “what would x do in this situation?” as a guide. I’m not saying be like them, as much as use it as a reference until you find your own style. As The Rock once said, “don’t try to be the next me, just be the first you.”

5. Analyze – I noticed a huge amount of improvement in my gameplay when I started watching myself a few hours a day while editing videos. I started to notice mistakes in my gameplay and questionable actions sometimes taken. This allowed me to adjust certain things and fine tune bad habits I didn’t realize I had in the heat of the moment. So, I would recommend recording a few matches with any screen recorder you can get for free in the app store just to review and analyze. Also asking common teammates if there’s anything they feel you can work on that you may have missed can be extremely beneficial as well.

If all goes according to plan, I should be streaming for the first time today. Thank McCoffee, HotDroppa, MGU, LilmsRosa, Cello, Aleigh, W1ldc4rd, all of my followers, and like the entire universe for extended peer pressure to do this.

I just feel like it's a bit oversaturated to take someone else's words once said to me. So many people stream that others get drowned out in it, and I don't want to drown out the truly legit people that have been working for years on this, but those same people I look up to are the ones encouraging me to start streaming, so maybe I should trust their opinion on me 😂
