D.W. Winnicott once said, “Artists are people driven by the tension between the desire to communicate and the desire to hide.” His quote explains the basic rule of composition. The idea behind photography is to communicate a story through visuals but composition aims to hide elements that distract the viewer from the focus of the photograph.
