1900s English Seafoam Silk Watteau Dressing Gown with
❤️ This robe felt like wearing butter, it was so crazy soft.

Perfect for wandering around, becoming lost in the woods, getting disoriented by shadows and snapping twigs, but not in a scary way, more like a Alice in wonderland following the rabbit kinda way.

Autumn slipped in so quietly and beautifully this year. It got so cold so fast that I almost didn’t even feel it happen. This has actually felt like a TRUE fall this year. Feels good.

Jocelyn was once again the loveliest person to shoot with, even though we caught got rained on the whole time and the mud was extra muddy and the air was cold. Was such a therapeutic afternoon for me and I couldn’t be more amazed that I’m spending time with the nicest people in the coolest city during my favorite season.

It’s all small potatoes compared to the real world problems out there right now. TW: intense and incoherent thoughts on international conflict:

Hope y’all are finding some form of balance atm. Can been difficult if you’re like me and you go so far down the current events rabbit hole that you have a hard time finding your way out of it. Putting faith in the world’s capacity for empathy feels desperate and hopeless but still critical. And having to conceptualize an outside perspective is clearly a struggle for so many people. But a struggle for clarity will simply never come close to the incomprehensible pain and grief of thousands of families right now. I’m trying to remain a page for a peaceful mental health escape and creative inspiration without forgoing the ethical obligation of expressing my love and compassion and fear and anger for the death of so many humans at the hands of a greedy few. My heart is in Gaza and with every single terrified child whose intrinsic right to a blissfully ignorant childhood has been ruthlessly torn from their innocent hands. As I view it all from an ivory tower, I will never truly comprehend it, and I don’t ever expect to. There’s no words to say that will ever be enough. Love you all ❤️

This 1900s embroidered bobbinet shawl was insane. tied it how it would often be worn shirt-like. The crown she actually made herself out of hundreds of antique millinery flowers. Totally unbelievable.

This was by far my favorite piece I got to wear for . I felt like I was in my true final form: a period drama he**in escaping the house for her early morning walk in the woods. About to wander upon her romantic interest on horseback for a brief and mysterious introduction. Cue the Marianelli 🎼🎶

I can’t even put to words how it felt getting to wear such impeccably styled looks by ❤️ I’m going to designated a post for each look, because they each deserve a bright and shiny spotlight.

It was the highlight of my year and I swear I’m not being dramatic; that is just simply how much I LOVE vintage clothing and getting to play dress up 🥲.

I like to imagine what the women who first owned these pieces would say seeing someone wear them a hundred years later. Would be confused, scandalized, but hopefully flattered and happy.

SELF PORTRAITS 🥲🌟
I’ve been wanting to get into self portraiture as a form of expression for like a year now, and yesterday I took advantage of a brief moment of motivation and was able to focus enough to take some. Was so spur of the moment, I didn’t even think to brush my hair 💀I only have kit lenses and I had to balance my old dslr on a pile of books sans a tripod, but my window has gorgeous natural light and my walls are freshly painted white. The photos themselves I’m very proud of, but more importantly I’m SO HAPPU with how the editing turned out. Color grading is my actual worst nightmare but I spent a few hours trying, started over a few times, and here’s what I ended up with. 🫣🙂❤️

Shooting with felt almost ceremonial, capturing the end of this year of my life in a way I haven’t done before. She makes studio portraits FUN and creative and way more relaxed than I anticipated. 11/10, would recommend. I’m so happy to have images of myself in my early 20s looking so “me”.

I’ve been practicing my Dior New Look lean 👀

Jocelyn and I spent a few hours shooting on her living room floor, tossing colorful tulle around and swapping instrumental soundtrack recommendations. Such a gentle reminder of why I moved to the city, and one that I desperately need right now. And on top of that, I came out of my first ever studio/beauty shoot feeling so… beautiful??

In full transparency, I‘be been in a crippling rough patch in my life and I find myself glossing over little accomplishments/wins until others (my mom) point them out to me. I have a feeling that’s very relatable. It is odd, though, to be struggling so much and yet seeing myself appear so put together and editorial. It’s hard to tell if it feels fraudulent or if it’s just me attempting to ✨aesthetically✨ persevere. Hoping that being more honest about it will more than just me in some way.

If you follow me closely, you know I have this obsession with the idea of women being sent to the sea “for their health”. I’ve been playing around with the concept of it for a while, imagining how it could be extremely isolating and maddening and detrimental for the mental health of some. I’ve been working on this story of a woman feeling exiled and abandoned and becoming so disassociated that she’s oblivious to the tide rising around her until it’s too late. helped me shoot that idea a few months back and she totally nailed it. Not to mention, she had the perfect tattered early-20th century dress for it. Definitely going to need to write out the short story now.
