ESFAA - European Short Film Audience Award (2024)

The European Short Film Audience Award (ESFAA) is a selection of the very best European short films of last year awarded with a national audience award in 10 emblematic European Film Festivals. Since 2019, 10 emblematic European festivals organises the European Short Film Audience Award (ESFAA): a selection of the very best European short films of last year awarded with a national audience award.

After winnning the favour of their national audience, 10 short films are on a quest to win the hearts of 511 million Europeans, who are invited to vote in favour of their favourite short film! The principle is simple: 10 short films, 10 festivals, 10 audiences to charm, 10 votes, one winner chosen as the European Short Film Audience Award after a one-year tour. The competition will take place between 10 short films which have already won a national public prize in the following festivals:

• Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival (Portugal)
• Lviv International Short Film Festival Wiz Art (Ukraine)
• Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival Bristol (United-Kingdom)
• ALCINE – Festival de Cine de Alcalá de Henares (Spain)
• Interfilm International Film Festival Berlin (Germany)
• Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (France)
• Tampere Film Festival (Finland)
• Go Short International Short Film Festival Nijmegen (Netherlands)

The launch of the 5th edition of the ESFAA took place yesterday in Brussels during the Brussels Short Film Festival! And the winner of the ESFAA - European Short Film Audience Award 2022-2023 was revealed: 𝑺𝒑𝒓𝒐̈𝒕𝒄𝒉 by Xavier Seron!
Congratulations to the belgian director and his film crew! This short film won the audience award at 9 European short film festivals!

The 4th edition of the ESFAA will be launched tonight during the Brussels Short Film Festival!
After winning over their respective audiences, 9 short films are now going on tour. First stop: Brussels. It's up to you to decide!

📌 Tonight at 8:30 pm at the Vendôme Cinema for the announcement of the third ESFAA winner followed by the ESFAA 1 screening.
📌 On April 28th at 7.30pm at the Studio 5 in Flagey for the ESFAA 2 screening
