Have any of you guys watched the documentary 'Fake Famous'?⠀⠀
⠀⠀
It follows a social experiment where they buy bot followers and likes to create fake influencers with massive followings. It works, especially for one girl who gets free clothes, trips and acting jobs.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
It's interesting but it's nothing new as we're all aware of how fake Instagram can be. Some celebrity accounts are estimated to have up to 50% fake followers and bot farm owners are making millions from selling them. I want to learn how to make one ahaha!⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Despite it being about influencers it did make me think about this from a brand perspective. So many people come to me and say 'I want 50k followers' rather than 'I want 50k sales'. This focus on following is just as big for brands as it is influencers.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Despite us knowing the reality we are all so focused on how successful we appear to our friends rather than how successful we are in reality.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Here is a fun fact: In the year I've been doing this, the business that made the most money has been the business with the smallest following.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
You know why? Because they nailed their product, their target audience and their message. Did they care about followers? No, because they were making serious money and didn't need to prove a thing. Did they care about engaging and building a strong relationship with their customers though? Absolutely. And providing a killer service and great experience? 100%.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Just some food for thought 🍔⠀
