Daily Talk Public Information Service (DATPIAS) Inc., established on May 14, 2000 as a news media institution for public information mainly of community and national developments in Liberia, is a non-governmental community– based institution established to freely inform the citizenry of Liberia with relevant and needed unfolding developments especially for those who cannot afford newspaper, magazine, television, cost of internet services, etc., but wish to contribute their quotes to community and national developments for community or national empowerment. The media institution Daily Talk as widely known, has its programs designed to give free and researched information to the public through its media services and believe in positively transforming the minds of people for the betterment of societies. Daily Talk programs are also designed to improve the quality of life of the citizenry of Liberia in both emergency and non-emergency situations in promoting the concept of peace, unit and development.

Mission

Having realized the significant of news media in societies and the destitute life of the citizenry of Liberia where one cannot easily afford newspaper, magazine, cost of internet services, etc. to be informed of developments for contribution to societies’ growth, Daily Talk Mission is to freely inform the public through its media services.

Vision

Considering the growing population of Liberia and the advancement in information technology to cope with future challenges, Daily Talk vision is to make information accessible to the public.

Motto

“Reaching the Needy with Needed information”.

Daily Talk believes strongly that information is power. And if one reaches the less fortunate (the needy) in societies with information, you empower them now to contribute their quotes to the growth and development of societies, thus helping to make the world a better place to live.

Background

Since the establishment of Daily Talk it has been informing the Liberian public through its media services about a number of developmental programs of institutions and developments, and has worked with institutions in and out of Liberia in informing the Liberian public. These institutions include the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) – on its peace and youth programs, UNICEF – Liberia, on its health and children programs, the U. S. Embassy in Liberia on its community development programs, the National Democratic Institute (NDI)-Liberia on its Legislative and Democratic Programs in Liberian communities, the Press Union of Liberia (PUL)-on its media programs, Internews-Liberia, on its media and health education programs, the U. S. Center for Disease Control: (CDC) – on its health programs in Liberia (the Ebola Virus Disease in Liberia), the Chinese Embassy in Liberia on its media program, Alab – Liberia on its empowerment programs of community-based institutions, the Government of Liberia through its Ministry of Information on its news media programs, Liberia Finance Ministry on its budget education programs, Liberia Health Ministry on its health programs, Liberia Public Works Ministry on its Zonal Laws and Road Rehabilitation programs, Liberia Gender Ministry on its women and children rights and Liberia Internal Affairs Ministry on its conflict resolution and decentralization of its Service Center across Liberia. During those programs Daily Talk provided not only needed information of these institutions and developments to the public, but also encouraged the public of its responsibility in societies for the improvement of the Liberian society.

Daily Talk, despite its mini size and capacity as compare to big media institutions, but with its creative knowledge and passion for public information has attracted the world and is known worldwide. Institutions’ news outlets that articles of Daily Talk has been published in around the world include the New York Time Newspaper in the U.S., the BBC Radio and TV, the VOA Radio and TV, CBC Radio – Canada, Al – Jazerah – TV, BBC Focus on Africa Magazine and CNN.
