The World AIDS Day Memorial 2020 for Victoria has just finished airing and I couldn't be prouder of the incredible opportuntity I was given to overcome the obstacle of COVID-19 and bring the warmth of the candles lit in rememberence of those passed into the homes of so many people across the state. It has been an incredible honour to serve Thorne Harbour Health and the Positive Living Centre this year in the creation of this first-ever video of the event, and am so humbled to be able to capture so many stories and images at such a historic time in our world history. Not only that, but as a young q***r person, this was my first ever World AIDS Day Memorial attended and it was made even more special by the fact that I could dedicate so much of my time and passion and art into bringing the day to life for the big (small?) screen. And as always, now more than ever, is the time that we needed this. To come together, to reflect and to remember, those who have come before us and who are still living with the virus. HIV still matters.
