forces us to reevaluate our definition of monstrosity, challenging our interpretation of the stories and creatures we think we know. We’ve seen it with Medusa (), and her parallels with Sally, plus how she views the gods. But it’s there with Echidna, too.

Echidna () is a mother, first and foremost, and it was no mistake they kicked off Percy Jackson ep 4 with Sally teaching Percy how to swim, then included Echidna teaching the chimera how to hunt. For her, demigods are the real monsters, her children the victims.

I had a lot of thoughts about this, including how the mantle of hero or villain is a matter of perspective. Wrote something more in depth about it, and I hope you’ll give it a read. (Link in bio!)

Have you been enjoying on ? We’re both astounded by all the ways they’ve stayed true to the source material, but also how they’ve managed to make the changes feel authentic to both the characters and the original story. One of the best scenes so far was as meeting with the dryad in the forest. So simple and quick, and yet gives us further insight into the character. Thank you, and everyone else who worked on this project. It’s been such an incredible ride so far, and we’re not done yet!
