Truly A Legendary Group In My Book X-Clan.

X Clan originally consisted of Grand Verbalizer Funkin' Lesson Brother J, Professor X the Overseer, Paradise the Architect, and Sugar Shaft the Rhythm Provider, with a later lineup including Brother J, Master China, Kumu, "Ultraman" Ra Hanna, ACL, Lord Cza, DJ Fat Jack, and Zulu. Known for their Afrocentrism and involvement in the Blackwatch movement, X Clan made waves with their controversial music, though commercial success was inconsistent. Their debut album, "To the East, Blackwards" (1990), and "Xodus" (1992), both reached #11 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in the United States. They influenced artists like Isis, Queen Mother Rage, and YZ. After a temporary break-up, Brother J formed the Dark Sun Riders in 1994, and X Clan later reunited in the late 1990s. Sadly, Sugar Shaft passed away in 1995 due to AIDS complications, and Professor X succumbed to spinal meningitis in 2006. In 2007, they returned with the album "Return from Mecca," featuring notable collaborations with artists like Damian Marley, KRS-One, and Tech N9ne. Much respect to the legends.
