A getaway's not enough
A lonely week, and it starts anew
If I could stay, I'd never leave
I'd never go back home again

This figure simply wasn't the way to you
No, you couldn't even spare me a glance
It kills me to say that I love you.
Oh, how I tire of this dance, you and me

One last chance is all I need, let me win your heart

Baby!
One more time, won't you look my way? 'Cause there's
No more time, the sun is finally setting
Am I to just give up? Forget love and wave goodbye
To all these memories?
No more words
No, I won't get through to you
No matter how much I have to say
Just empty words you'll never know
Beneath the glow of
Honolulu city lights

UPDATE!!!!

I’ve been playing a hell of a lot Resident Evil 4 Remake as of late, currently in the middle of my 8th playthrough. This is how a remake should be. Nobody can expect an exact 1:1 remake but Capcom seems to always have the formula on how to best execute it (see Resident Evil 2 Remake).

Currently trying to get at least an S rank on all difficulties (already got S on Hardcore, so this screenshot is outdated), and having mentioned that it’s my 8th playthrough, here’s a quick list of what I liked and what annoyed me the most:

I liked…
- atmosphere
- gameplay (parries with the knife/importance of the knife in general)
- story and lore (showed you more backstory on Salazar and his minions)
- scare factor

My favorite sections jn the game:
- boat section (getting the 2 heads for the church key)
- Getting the 3 heads for the statues in the castle
- Krauser knife fight
- Ashley’s section (totally different from the original and the scare/tension factor was amazing

My least favorite sections in the game (since they annoyed me)
- Del Lago boss fight (very tough even at Standard difficulty)
- Mine Cart section (auto aim is your best friend)
- Krauser arena fight (too many traps even after all these playthroughs)
- Mike’s section (just the SHEER AMOUNT of enemies)

All in all, an amazing game and dare I say BETTER than the OG RE4.

5 out of 5. A definite must-play.

PAGE UPDATE!!!

Hi folks! I've been quite busy these past few weeks, but will surely upload some new content soon!

These will contain:
- Judgment: Yagami vs Amon
- Yakuza Kiwami 2: Kiryu vs the Amons (finally completed those damned baseball and golf sidequests!)

I've also been playing some FF9+Moguri Mod lately (doing a Lv 1 challenge run), plus some Chrono Trigger (my first ever playthorugh!) on the side.

Keep your eyes peeled!

JUDGMENT / JUDGE EYES = COMPLETE.

Another incredible game from SEGA and RGG Studios! Characters, storytelling, and gameplay were phenomenal. The plot twists are signature RGG, but it was definitely "not the normal plot twist" you'd expect which made this game so amazing. It's like you were watching a TV series/movie that kept you engaged and glued to your seat.

Verdict: 9/10. A must play if you are a fan of the Yakuza series.

PLATINUM NUMBER 6.

My 6th platinum trophy comes from a very unlikely game--Resident Evil 3 Remake! I actually thought I'd 'plat' RE2 Remake first, but that 4th Survivor Mode is just impossible. So, I went ahead and looked at RE3R's trophy list and though "hey, this is actually plat-able!". As a final requirement, I had to shoot all Charlie Dolls, so that's that.

On to the next!

01/01/2022

As the pandemic persisted throughout 2021, my gaming opportunities have been on an all time high. I've played more than a dozen games this past year, but these four are by far the best games I've experienced.

Final Fantasy 5 - I was pleasantly surprised with this game. Although it's not really talked about that much, I really enjoyed the Gameplay, particularly the job system. It also had one of the more underrated deaths in video games. All in all, a must play especially if you're a Final Fantasy fantasy fan.

Resident Evil 3 Remake - building off the heels of the RE2 Remake, I was surprised how a lot of the story was changed, and how surprisingly short it was compared to RE2. The gameplay was a slight improvement over the RE2 Remake, but not really a better game. Still, it's nice to see Jill and Nemesis reimagined for the new generation.

Ghost of Tsushima - arguably the most beautiful game graphics-wise that I have ever played. The Gameplay and story was good too, and the Iki Island expansion was no slouch either. Definitely worth at least one playthrough on your lifetime.

Yakuza series - I have never been so hooked to a series quite like how I got hooked with Yakuza. Definitely the most fun I've had in gaming in 2021. It has GREAT characters, GREAT gameplay, insane plot twists, and an insane amount of sidequests. The series also has some of the best minigames I've played. I managed to play the first 7 games (Yakuza 0-6) in a five-month span, something I didn't think I'd be capable of doing, especially since two of those games will net you more than 100 hours of gameplay. I still have one more to play and two more spinoffs to check out, so there will definitely be more Yakuza-related content on the page.

As 2021 comes to an end, here's to hoping 2022 brings us more enjoyable and memorable video game experiences.

Happy New Year to everyone! Stay safe and stay healthy.

Yakuza 5: The Boys vs. The Amons

Finishing up some loose ends in Yakuza 5 Remastered, I finally battle the Amons.

Similar to Yakuza 4, each one of Akiyama, Saejima, Shinada (in lieu of Tanimura), and Kiryu will battle against an Amon, each with their own unique (and cheap) abilities.

Here are the timestamps in the video:
0:10: Akiyama vs. Kazuya Amon
Kazuya is a carbon copy of Akiyama's moveset. Same combos and similar heat moves. He shouldn't be too difficult if you time your combos right and keep your heath high.

6:58: Saejima vs. Jiro Amon
I was SURPRISED how particularly easy Jiro Amon was this time around, seeing that I game-overed against him when I fought him in Yakuza 4. What made this battle easy? TIGER DRAGON DROP. It's like the baby brother of the Tiger Drop, BUT it adds a stun/paralysis effect to your opponent. Once Jiro's health is in the last two health bars or so, he starts to make images of himself to try to throw you off, but you really just need to focus on the "real" Jiro.

13:50: Shinada vs. Sango Amon
This fight was surprisingly difficult, maybe because I brought the wrong weapons for Shinada, and I brought more health recovery items than heat recovery items (heat actions is a VITAL PART in winning this fight). Having at least one durable weapon will help temendously, since the Amons will break any melee weapons you use against them. Sango's cheapness comes into the fray when he starts to FLOAT IN MIDAIR AND THROW UMVRELLAS AT YOU, ala Final Fantasy XV's Armiger. This battle took the longest because you cannot hit him when he's floating, unless you have maybe a gun or some other long-range weapon. One trick I used is that when he's about to float down, attack him from behind with your weapon, because he becomes vulnerable for about 3-4 seconds.

30:39: Kiryu vs. Jo Amon
Jo Amon uses some tricks from his previous brothers in this battle. He floats and shoots umbrellas at you, but not as extreme as Sango. He does have a Tiger Drop that hurts (if you don't escape in time), and you could get stuck into situations wherein your back is turned and he'll hit you with a FLURRY of combos. He alsu uses this attack which burns you, but if you have the right equipment, it shouldn't hurt you too much. Just keep Tiger Dropping him to kingdom come, and he'll fall soon.

37:05: Outro
You get some Amon Sunglasses as a prize, which doubles all weapons' attack power, very useful when grinding for experience. You'll also get the infinitely useful Golden Pistol (unlimited ammo!) as a reward for completing all substories.

Yakuza 6 - Kiryu vs, Jo Amon

This is Kiryu's final battle with Amon, and it couldn't get any cheaper than this, with Amon using fu***ng DRONES and ROBOVACS to try to get the job done.

However, Kiryu is Kiryu and nothing stands in his way.

Yakuza 6 Clan Creator: The Amon Army Final Battles

The Clan Creator features the Kiryu Clan (yes, that's their actual name) do battle against the members of JUSTIS (yes, that's really misspelled). Similar to Yakuza Kiwami 2, these Clan creator battles feature cameos from various NEW JAPAN Pro Wrestling Legends. After clearing the main story missions. the Amon Army joins in on the fun in one of the later side missions, giving you three battles each (with increasing difficulty) in both Kamurocho and Onomichi.

The first two battles (in each city) against the Amon Army are pretty manageable, having been able to defeat them with Level 35-40 characters. However, the Final Battles featured MULTIPLE AMONS, which is nigh impossible with sub-level 50 characters. With this dilemma, I bit the bullet and went farming for levels (which took a looooong time). eventually reaching the early-mid 80s (I'm pretty sure it's still doable in the mid-60s levels). The change was dramatic.

So without further ado, here are the final battles against the Amon Army in both Kamurocho and Onomichi.
