Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has today morning paid a courtesy call to his National Treasury counterpart Njuguna Ndung'u.

The two Leaders are set to hold discussions on the upgrade of the National Forensic Laboratory and other security programs.

This collaborative effort signifies a commitment to strengthening the nation's security infrastructure.

National Forensic Laboratory was commissioned on June 13, 2022, despite Plans to set up the laboratory started in the 1990s.

The multi-billion shilling project classified under the security, peacebuilding and conflict management sector, failed to properly commence due to corruption scandals like Anglo Leasing.

Although the physical structure was completed in 2015, fixing of the necessary equipment in the 10 specialised scientific laboratories has dragged on.

The laboratory was identified as a security flagship project under Vision 2030 and was one of the projects to be completed under the first Medium Term plan 2008-12.

JUICY NEWS!!

The Teacher Service Commission has proposed reforms to the TSC Amendment Bill, highlighting holiday tuition as a disciplinary offense that could lead to job termination.

This proposition has stoked opposition from the Kenya National Union of Teachers, who argue that their perspectives were not considered during the reform proposal process.

Prior attempts to ban holiday tuition in 2008 and 2016 were unsuccessful due to the lack of a specific penalty for teachers conducting classes during holidays. The practice of holiday coaching is a means for teachers to supplement their income.

There are claims that some teachers intentionally omit topics during the regular term to compel students to

The Government has put in place robust measures to attract foreign direct investment.

President William Samoei Ruto has appealed to Polish investors to explore investment opportunities in the country.
He said Kenya is strategically positioned as an ideal investment hub for foreign investors eyeing the African market.
Among the incentives to investors, President Ruto said, are five Special Economic Zones being set up across the country.

These special economic zones – in Mombasa (Dongo Kundu), Thika, Kirinyaga, Eldoret and Busia – will offer investors special tariffs.

He made the remarks on Monday during the Polish-Kenyan High-Level Economic Dialogue at a Nairobi hotel in the company of President Andrzej Duda of Poland.
President Duda said the Polish Government has rated Kenya as an attractive investment destination good for its investors.

The President of Poland commended the Polish-Kenyan business meeting as a good forum to showcase Kenya’s investment opportunities

Todays Halting of the Housing Levy by the court or appeal is inconsequential and temporary.

The bill below published on 4th of December 2023 in the Kenya Gazette, outlines the Legal Framework for the establishment of the Affordable Housing Fund, How to Access the Affordable Housing and the imposition of the Affordable Housing Levy to finance the provision of the Affordable Housing.

This bill is seeking to amend the issues raised in the November 30th judgment by The 3 judges who declared the Housing Levy Unconstitutional, by arguing that the introduction of the housing levy amendment to section 84, lacked a comprehensive legal framework in violation of Article 10 of the constitution, arguing that levy against persons in formal employment without justification is discriminatory and irrational.

The judgement today by the Court of Appeal is among the many formidable hurdles that the William Samoei Ruto Government is eventually going to overcome and deliver the Affordable Housing that’s going to change the lives of Kenyans by providing dignified housing and the much needed employment opportunities.

JUICY NEWS!!

Super CS Kithure Kindiki , has insisted that he will not let politicians meddle in the ongoing security operations in bandit-hit regions.

Speaking at Ngaratuko Primary School grounds, in Baringo North subcounty on Tuesday, Kindiki said security agencies must be allowed time and space to do their jobs.

The CS said the ongoing operation to root out bandits and armed criminals from the region has nothing to do with politics. He said that it also has nothing to do with culture.

He warned politicians who have always used banditry and livestock rustling to advance their political ambitions that times have changed, and their days are numbered.
