Congratulations to Times News/Lehigh Valley Health Network Athlete of the Week: Cara Thomas of Northwestern Lehigh Girls Basketball!
Thomas reached a scoring milestone while averaging over 22 points per game as the Tigers rolled to a 3-0 week. The senior scored nine of her game-high 19 points in the opening quarter as Northwestern picked up a 55-35 win over Wilson Jan. 6. Thomas became the all-time leading girls scorer in school history when she scored a team-high 26 points in a 72-33 win over Pen Argyl on Jan. 9, passing the mark previously held by Paige Sevrain. She concluded the week with a game-high 23 points as the Tigers rolled to their 14th straight win, topping Salisbury 56-19 on Jan. 10.
