Watched DUNE: PART 2 and kept thinking that the Spice Girls need to reunite and do an update of "Spice Up Your Life" featuring Ice Spice as the official song of the DUNE franchise.
As a spectacle and a sci-fi epic the film is undeniably incredible with Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan having the most sickening costumes. Other than that, the colonizer/white savior energy is through the roof with the sequel -- I mean, that story is baked into the movie's DNA. There's no way around it. Considering the current climate, it's definitely gonna have folks (mostly Brown folks) raising eyebrows with think pieces and heated conversations about the appropriation colonialism of it all.

Brian Tee has been quietly paving the way for fellow Asian American actors by simply doing the work.
“I think this industry is hard period and I think being a person of color made it harder period — especially at that time,” Tee said in an interview with DIASPORA. “At the beginning of my career, as far as being Asian, I don’t think we were ever respected as artists, actors or even good. There’s certain casting directors said ‘Asians can’t act’ in publications.”
