Band Practice, Volume IV - “Baby’s Arms” by Kurt Vile.

We practiced all of these songs so we could play them in Colorado around a fire in the mountains. This song, to me, feels the most like Colorado.

For the penultimate episode of this series, there is a mix of all of our practice footage, our trip to Twin Lakes last May, and the final play through of these songs around a campfire with friends.

A little over a year ago, we all decided to get together and learn some covers of songs we love. It turned into something really fun that we all still enjoy doing as a group today.
Bryson and Gloria recorded all of our practices and Tracey took photos, which mostly consisted of us messing around and laughing a lot, but we thought it would be cool to share the footage with you to give a little insight on how much fun we all have when we get together and play music.

So our friend Mikaila came by the other night, and we got to have an amazing meal with her. If you have been lucky enough to meet Mikaila, you already know how warm her spirit is, and how bright her personality and sense of humor is. And you definitely know how incredibly generous she is, especially when it comes to her meals. We at 3rd Stage really believe that you choose your family, and we think this video really reflects that. We also want to give a HUGE thank you to each and every one of you for being a part of our mission this year. Whether you have kept up with us on social media, hired us to work on a project, or contributed or mentored us in some way, we literally can't thank you enough. This year has been yet another of growth and learning, with a healthy dose of struggle as well. These moments make it all worth it! A special thank you to Irvine’s Just Beyond Paradise Winery for selling amazing wine and letting us enjoy it in our video! Enjoy these 7 minutes of us getting to be mega boujee!

Our dear friends Parry just announced the release of their long-awaited EP “Recurrence”! They were kind enough to involve us in designing their cover artwork. The band came to us with a strong idea and vision of what they were wanting, and they dreamed up this super fun set. We just brought the pieces together for the final image! Recurrence streaming EVERYWHERE on January 4th 2021! Congrats, Parry! 🎉 🎈

Something that’s very important to us is having the ability to do as much as we can in-house. This graphic from our first behind the scenes episode was designed by our very own contributor Jessica Hosmann! This was originally hand drawn, scanned, and then digitally colored in adobe illustrator. We have some more fun stuff like this planned!

So finally.. after months and months of intense deliberation (and combating our graphic designer’s increasing neuroticism and constant indecisiveness) we believe we have a logo. We have experimented with countless designs and concepts in the past, but none of them quite felt like “us.” We are extremely thrilled to introduce you to Astro, the Jelly. He loves hanging out and making cool stuff with his friends. Upon an extremely recent google search (we actually googled it while writing this post) we discovered that “the jellyfish symbolizes energetic flow, entanglement, and reiki. Jellyfish don't need to force anything. Water currents take them exactly where they need to be. They live a life of complete trust and surrender.” To be honest, we are very unsure of what any of that means, and it doesn’t seem to apply to us in anyway whatsoever. 😉 But it sounds cool! Thanks for following on our journey thus far, and have a great weekend!
