Saleem Yousuf , CNS
Srinagar 14 Feb : Doctors rendering their services at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have allegedly not been transferred for the last 12 years.
Reliable sources told the news agency CNS that the doctors at SDH Pattan seemed to have been given carte blanche as barely anyone among them has been transferred during the last 12 years.
“Keeping doctors at one place for such a long period is unthinkable and it also goes against the transfer policy. Doctors or any other employee while not being transferred after a due course of time hints of either of the department’s incompetency or the concerned individuals’ clout to run things as per their wishes,” they said.
Backing up the sources claims, locals also expressed their dismay over not transferring of doctors, including ones under RBSK, at SDH Pattan and said that their reshuffle would have streamlined the things in the health facility as staying at one place for a long duration has its own fallouts.
It was also learnt that the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla and concerned Block Medical Officer (BMO) had informed higher-ups regarding the issue, but to no avail.
Meanwhile, Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah has assured that he would look into the matter. (CNS)
