When teaching our little ones to read, helping them understand rhyming words encourages them to pick up how words sound and learn new words!

Say a simple one syllable word and ask your kids to say a rhyming word back to you, playing back and forth until you can build up to two syllables. A good word to start with would be 'cat' 😸
