This call-out is open to artists of any discipline with micro grant funding of up to $1100 awarded to successful applicants.

If you’re an artist with a work currently in the development phase, this is the festival for you!

Applications for the 2024 Footscray Sleepless Festival programme are now open to artists via our website (link in bio).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The mission of Sleepless Festival is to encourage the activation of arts in the heart of Footscray.

We transform unused and unconventional urban spaces into hubs of performance, art installations and community engagement.

Melbourne’s West is growing faster than ever and Footscray is at the epicenter of that growth, this is why we are dedicated to celebrating the area and bringing people to the thriving arts scene out west!

For our 2024 programme we will be providing successful applicants with micro-grants of up to $1000 to exhibit works which celebrate the diverse communities which make up the identity of Footscray, or which draw the wider Melbourne communities into engaging in what the wonderful Footscray area has to offer.

Sleepless encourages artists of all levels of experience, all walks of life, and any discipline to apply, so if you’re an artist with a work in progress you’re looking to bring to life, this is your chance!

Successful applicants will also receive mentorship sessions from our volunteer team of professional industry specialists in the logistical aspects of hosting their events and/or installations.

Set in the Footscray Baptist Church, ORGANICA is an event that explores the interplay between electroacoustic processes and the physicality of a pipe organ. An evening of ambient, drone, sound art, installation and commune, featuring a line-up of collaborative performances by local artists. 30th June

There will also be goulash and chai, so come for a cheap feed while you're at it.
