Notorious Gangster and mafia boss Atiq Ahmed met his end live on camera and under police protection this week. Many residents of UP are expressing happiness and relief at his end. To know why, we will need to understand the long history of misdeeds by Atiq Ahmed and the UP mafia.
His encounter has also raised many questions: Who is behind this? How did the police let this happen? Is this a failure of Yogi Adityanath or a masterstroke? And also, why are some people trying to paint notorious gangster Atiq Ahmed as a victim?

As we all saw, UP mafia don turned politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were gunned down on live television. The news immediately prompted severe, polarizing reactions, not only from India but everywhere else too. While many celebrated the death of a dreaded criminal who had been responsible for a reign of terror in Uttar Pradesh for four decades, others saw the killing as a complete breakdown of law and order. When I conducted a poll on my YouTube community page, the responses were equally divisive. So, I began to wonder why some people celebrated, while others thought Ahmed's killing set a dangerous precedent for our democracy. My friend ButWhy and I got together, and we tried to analyze the arguments both for and against the killing and reach our own conclusion.

के रहने वाले दर्शन सोलंकी की मौत 12 फरवरी को में हुई थी. इसे आत्महत्या बताया गया लेकिन परिजनों का आरोप है कि उसे जातिगत भेदभाव का सामना करना पड़ रहा था. वो आत्महत्या नहीं कर सकता है.

दर्शन ने मौत से एक घंटे पहले अपने पिता से बात की थी. वे बताते हैं, ‘‘उस दिन मेरी भतीजी का जन्मदिन था. उससे बात की. मैं उसे दो दिन बाद लेने जाने वाले था. काफी खुश था वो. कह रहा था कि जल्दी आना मुझे लेने, हम बुआ के घर जाएंगे, सब मौज करेंगे.’’


IIT-बॉम्बे के छात्र दर्शन सोलंकी की मौत के पीछे जातिगत भेदभाव का आरोप तूल पकड़ रहा है (IIT Bombay Darshan Solanki Su***de Case). मृतक छात्र के परिवार ने कहा है कि उनके बेटे को दलित होने की वजह से प्रताड़ित किया गया जो बाद में उसकी आत्महत्या का कारण बना. बीती 12 फरवरी को 18 साल के दर्शन सोलंकी की IIT-बॉम्बे के हॉस्टल से गिरकर मौत हो गई थी. तीन महीने पहले ही उसका तकनीकी संस्थान में एडमिशन हुआ था

The issue refers to the demand for an independent Sikh state called Khalistan, which would be located in the Punjab region of India. The demand for Khalistan was largely driven by a sense of alienation among Sikhs, who felt that they were being discriminated against and marginalized by the Indian government. This sense of alienation was fueled by a number of factors, including the suppression of the Sikh identity, the unequal distribution of resources, and the failure of the Indian government to address issues that were important to the Sikh community.
