Tomatoes were once thought to be poisonous due to their similarity to poisonous plants, such as nightshade. It wasn't until the 18th century that they were widely accepted and incorporated into various cuisines.

3. Tomato Soup:
Ingredients: Tomatoes, onion, garlic, vegetable broth, olive oil, salt, pepper, cream (optional).

Method: Sauté onions and garlic in olive oil. Add chopped tomatoes and broth. Simmer until tomatoes are soft. Blend until smooth. Add cream if desired and season with salt and pepper.
