Stop the scroll 🚨 Do you know what an Instagram Grid Refresh is? It’s a great way to update your feed when it’s been a while… and you want to inject some life and order into your IG. How about a case study?
Let’s say Erin has a little flower shop. Her business goal is to increase the number of buyers by 20% every quarter (she’s definitely ticking that ‘social goals must align with your business goals’ box!)
Erin knows her strengths are creating bouquets inspired by minimalism and art, and she wants to showcase that a little better on her Instagram (and meet her business goal!)
Even though she’s showing different bouquets and some behind the scenes images, her feed isn’t as cohesive and elevated as it could be. In fact, it’s a little messy. So, the smart cookie she is, Erin decides to revisit her content pillars and re-do her content.
Erin’s content pillars are Bouquets, Education, and Behind the Scenes/Relatable.
Here’s some content our florist could create for each of these pillars:
- Bouquets: Minimalist, Wildflower bouquets, Wedding bouquets
- Education: Flower care tips, Historic flowers
- BTS/Relatable: Meet the florist, Tour our shop, Our favorite arrangements
Now it’s time to separate the grid into sections. This is super easy with our 3 content pillars: each pillar stands in for a type of image shown on the feed:
- Minimalist, wildflower, and wedding bouquets
- Close-ups of flowers for flower care tips, and some unusual flowers to talk about historic flowers
- Shop photos and selfies to populate the BTS/Relatable content pillar
The most important (and fun) part will be creating a Grid Pattern: A repeatable pattern of photos that makes the grid look cohesive, ordered, and elevated.
All that’s left to do is setting aside a 2-3 hours per week to take new photos and have some fun 🤩 You’ll start seeing the changes to the feed as soon as you post 6-9 photos.
Here’s your Grid Refresh shortcut:
