I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you today! Our new t-shirt collection, Roots of Resilience, is now live and ready for you to explore. This collection is more than just a set of t-shirts; it’s a celebration of the strength, growth, and resilience that define us as farm and ranch women.

Imagine a seed, small and unassuming, nestled in the rich soil of a vast field. With each passing day, it faces the elements—harsh winds, relentless sun, and torrential rains. Yet, it persists. It grows roots that anchor it firmly, allowing it to rise and flourish. This seed's journey is a powerful metaphor for our own lives on the farm and ranch. Every challenge we face, every obstacle we overcome, makes us stronger and more resilient.

Our Roots of Resilience collection is inspired by this very journey. Each shirt in this collection carries a message of empowerment and growth, reminding us of the incredible strength we possess.

Click the link in the comment to shop the PRESALE now through June 14th! Special discounted rate is applied.

As a fellow farm and ranch woman, I know firsthand the challenges we face and the strength required to overcome them. This collection is a tribute to you—to your hard work, your dedication, and your unwavering spirit. It's a reminder that we are resilient, capable, and unstoppable.

I continue to get messages and photos of sweet customers in this sweatshirt 🫶🏻

This sweatshirt has snuggled sick babies, been a gift for others, and has served as a reminder to trust the Lord and let Him take the lead. 🙏

I seriously have the best people supporting my business. 🥹

From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

I went to a lot of brandings when I was a high schooler. It was kind of my thing.

I just loved the atmosphere, neighbors helping neighbors, plus the boys were cute to look at 😘 (IYKYK)

Of course, there was always a bunch of little kids running around and I always wondered how the Moms did it.

How they managed to watch the kids, work in the branding corral, have a pile of cookies made for the help, and cooked a big, delicious branding dinner for when the work was all done. How did they get it all done?

It’s because they had a village, one that I wasn’t paying attention to at the time. There wasn’t just one Mom in the branding corral, there were several and they all watched each others kids.

There wasn’t just one Mom in the kitchen preparing the food, there were several neighbor ladies who were either cleaning, cooking, watching kids, or sometimes all three.

I’m in that season of my life right now. There isn’t a branding that hasn’t gone by in the last 10 years that I haven’t needed my village for help, even before I had kids.

They help us down in the branding corral, they watch my little ones, and they make sure the food isn’t burning.

So much goes into a big day like branding, there is no way I’d be able to get it done on my own.

Nobody does. We all need a village. We need a village to raise kids AND cows. It doesn’t make us incompetent or lacking in any way, it makes us human.

We were all meant to help either other, whether it’s raising kids and cows or raising crops and cows.

It’s one of the things I live most about agriculture…the community within and the willingness to help each other 🫶🏻

If you are proud of your village and see the value in community, this shirt is for you. Check out the website - I particularly love this design because it reminds me of all little kids hanging off the fence at branding!

Happy Branding Season!

I had the best group of friends in college. Seriously, the BEST. We all came from similar backgrounds and had a ton of fun and went on some of my most favorite adventures to date. When we graduated from college and all parted ways, I immediately moved all the way across the big state of Montana away from all friends and family, with my boyfriend (now husband) to work on a ranch in an area that was completely new to me. We didn’t know anyone besides each other and the people who had hired us. Slowly, I made a few friends through various jobs I held but no one my own age or who had similar interests to me. It was a completely life changing year that I’ll never forget (in the best of ways) but it still felt really hard.

After a year, we moved back to my husband’s family ranch. Even though it was quite the distance from town (40 miles), I still wanted to work and earn my own money so I got a job as a secretary at an oil company. Again, I made new friends and reconnected with old ones but was still having trouble finding that group of friends that held the same interests as me. My time working in town kept me away from the ranch more than I’d liked and eventually, I found a job that I could work from home on the ranch. I grew up on a farm and knew what kind of life I was getting into but wasn’t quite expecting the loneliness that nagged at me after a while.

Becoming a part of my husband’s family ranch was more difficult that I expected. Relationships were strained, things felt hard, and I continued to feel alone in my situation. I loved life on the ranch, loved my job and it kept me pretty busy which helped but it still didn't fill the friendship void. Then we had my first daughter. At this point, my village still felt pretty small. I had family not too far away and a few local friends but still was craving more.

I really needed someone to talk to as a brand new mom and as a new ranch wife and I didn’t have much of that. So I started sharing my story online and went looking for my own village. I shared it all from my joys to my struggles and everything in between, and I was blown away by what I had found in return—healing, friendship, connection, and other farm and ranch women who could relate. In my journey, I have found women who’ve supported through the mountains and valleys of life. We’ve celebrated together and prayed for one another and felt each others pain as we take turns being in the trenches. They’ve kept the loneliness at bay and made my big world feel just a little bit smaller.

Had I not gone through all the loneliness and hard times when I first moved to the ranch and especially after I had my first couple kids, I wouldn’t have started Beyond the Fencelines. I wouldn’t have gone looking for my village.

Beyond the Fencelines was founded on the principles of connection and community. I was looking for a bigger village in motherhood and ranch life so I went out and found one. This life we live, farm and ranch life, it’s literally the best life ever. Words cannot convey how deeply I feel that but this life is also very hard and very isolating at times. We need each other to lean on. We cannot do this alone. They say it takes a village and I hope you'll let me be a part of yours.

The “It Takes a Village” line is in honor of the villages that support us as mothers and as women in agriculture, both near and far. Presale Orders end today at 11:59pm.

When referring to the "village" it takes to raise cattle and kids...I'm talking about:
-my spouse
-family nearby
-my cousins who live on the other side of the country they're so supportive)
-my mom friends who live nearby
-the friends I've never met IRL who encourage me through my DMs
-daycare when Mom has a work day
-the grocery store checker who offers to carry my groceries out
-the assistant at the chiropractor who insists I bring all my kids with me
-and so many more…

Some day’s I still try to kid myself that I can do this while ranch mom thing on my own.

Who am I kidding? 😅

But I think that’s the whole point…we’re not supposed to do it on our own.

I hope this doesn’t ruffle any feathers but sometimes I think we take the saying “it takes a village” too literally, especially in this day and age.

Just because someone isn’t physically there for us when it comes to raising the kids, doesn’t mean they can’t be a part of your village. There’s so many other ways to support a mother, ways that our ancestors never had.

While our ancestors literally had a village right down the road, our villages can be spread across the world because of technology.

Beyond the Fencelines was founded on the principles of connection and community. I was looking for a bigger village so I went out and found one.

And just look where we’re at today…meeting mothers and new friends from across all walks of life and we all have one thing in common…we’re all mothers.

The “It Takes a Village” line is in honor of the villages that support us as mothers, both near and far.

Please send some love to someone in your village on here and tag them in the comments below and let them know you’re thinking of them!

My village is comprised of friends, relatives, and neighbors who live just down the road. They’re gracious enough to offer to help watch kiddos, help feed the working crew, and occasionally keep an eye on the place if we’re gone. They’ve given me ranch wife to ranch wife advice, extra garden produce, a ride for my Bountiful Basket, and hand-me downs for the kids. They make Halloween special for my country kids, share their extra raw milk with me, and they don’t say a word when they stop by unannounced and my house is a mess.

Sometimes, I lean on them and other times, they lean on me. It’s how we raise our cows and kids in rural America. It takes a village.

Some of my village doesn’t live just down the road, or even in my county, state or country.

They live in my DMs, comments, text messages and emails.

Some of my village I haven’t even met in person and probably never will.

My village is also comprised of farm and ranch moms, rural women (and some men), young and old, near and far, who have reached out to me through this little app. They’ve sent me encouraging messages, advice, support, and prayers when I’ve needed them most. They celebrate my wins with me and pick me up when I stumble. I don’t think I’d be on here or willing to share my story if it wasn’t for these people.

My village is made up of the people who are supporting me, encouraging me, getting to know me, and finding a connection with me.

And even though they can’t help me change a diaper or lend a hand at branding or help with a field meal, they make the hard times more bearable and the good times extra sweet.

Farm and ranch life is better when we stick together.

I wholeheartedly believe it takes a village to raise cows and kids. If I haven’t said it yet, thank you for being a part of my village.

In honor of the villages near and far that support us as mothers, I’d like to introduce the newest t-shirt line to launch for preorder from Beyond the Fencelines:

The “It Takes A Village” line 🤩

REAL reviews from my email list subscribers after I sent out last week's email that included:

7 Tips for Strengthening Your Marriage During Calving (or any busy season)

and

A freebie for the kids - A downloadable "Calving Progress Tracker" to keep kids engaged in calving!

When I first set out to grow my email list, it was my goal to provide tremendous value to them whether it be through motivation, encouragement, helpful tips, or prayer. I never expected to receive so much joy and excitement hearing back from my subscribers saying how much they enjoyed my email.

This week my email will be focused on the village it takes to support a mother and help raise the kids (and cows and crops).

Comment "Me" below and I'll send you the link to sign up! I hope you'll join me in the Beyond the Beyond The Fencelines community email list!

I want to be the kind of Mom who remains rooted in what will last, not the kind of Mom that is quick to chase after temporary feeling or instant gratification.

I want to be the kind of Mom who is fully and intentionally present in this season, and the next season, and the season after that.

I want to be the kind of Mom that doesn’t invest my time and energy wanting to live anywhere other than where the Lord has me.

There’s something to be said for staying in the moment and finding joy in the journey 🫶🏻

Coming soon to the website! 😍

I remember the moment distinctly. It was near the end of last summer and I had reached a really low point. My mental and physical health had been suffering for months. I talked to a trusted friend about it and she encouraged me to go back to church. On my way home from church, a song I hadn’t heard in years came on the radio and it made me pull over on the side of the road. ‘Jesus, take the wheel’ was the song.

Only now I was a Mom of 3 and it hit me a little differently than it did before I was a Mom. It brought me to tears. That moment stuck in my mind so much that I made this shirt as a reminder. A reminder that we can’t do it on our own. A reminder that we NEED Jesus. A reminder that I can’t do motherhood, or life for that matter, without Him. A reminder that everything is going to be okay.

I thought I had to prove myself after having a baby.

I thought I had to show up more, do more things, prove that having a baby hadn’t effected how much work I could do.

I thought I had to keep up at the same pace as before and keep up with the work load.

I thought that people would judge me if I showed weakness, if I slowed down at all.

I thought I had to be the person I was before kids.

I thought that having a baby wouldn’t really change me.

I thought wrong.

I wanted to be that Mom whose productivity went unfazed by the addition of sweet babies into her busy schedule.

I wanted to be the Mom who could still do “all the things” and do them really well.

I wanted to put on a brave face and never admit I was struggling or that it was hard.

But then I learned that I don’t have to prove anything to anyone, that by putting unrealistic expectations on myself, I was only making myself unhappier and more stressed out.

I learned that other people’s opinions of me don’t matter.

I learned that I am enough.

27/11/2023

You are enough.

If you’re working day in and day out beside your husband on the farm or ranch, you are enough.

If you’re keeping the home fires burning, you are enough.

If you’re bringing your crew field meals and parenting solo during calving or spring farming, you are enough.

If you’re working in town to bring in extra income for the farm or ranch, you are enough.

If you work from home while raising tiny humans and supporting your farmer or rancher, you are enough.

If you’re watching farm and ranch life go by from the view of the front yard with a baby on your hip, you are enough.

If you’re juggling kids, crops, cows, and chaos, you are enough.

If you’re the 1st generation or the 5th generation, you are enough.

If you were raised on a farm/ranch or you married into farm/ranch life, you are enough.

If you’re raising farm and ranch kids while simultaneously following your own dreams, you are enough.

Just a gentle reminder…

Whatever your role on the farm or ranch may be, YOU are enough.
