Hey mama,

We all have the power to create our own reality through our thoughts about ourselves. Our thoughts shape our beliefs and ultimately, our beliefs create our reality. When we focus on negative thoughts, we create a negative reality. When we focus on positive thoughts, we create a positive reality.

The key to creating a positive reality is to focus on positive thoughts about yourself. Think about the things you’re good at, the things you have achieved, the successes you have had, and the positive qualities you possess. Remind yourself that you are capable, strong, and worthy.

When negative thoughts creep in, don’t let them linger. Counteract them with positive affirmations.

Here are two wonderful affirmations to say as a working mom (but really anyone can use)

1. I am capable of balancing my career and family life with grace and ease.
2. I am thankful for the opportunity to provide for my family and myself.

Remind yourself of your qualities, your successes, and your potential. Challenge yourself to think about the good in your life.

Your thoughts are powerful. They can shape your world and create a positive reality. Take control of your thoughts and use them to your advantage. Focus on the positive and create a brighter future.

Hey mama,

I know how easy it can be to get stuck in the past, re-living the same moments over and over again in our minds, and it's even easier to get stuck in a cycle of negative emotions. But the truth is, the past is in the past and the only thing we can truly control is how we choose to react to it. So, let's have a little fun with it!

Let's say you have a friend who did something to upset you in the past, and now you're feeling angry and resentful. What do you do?

You could focus all your energy on being angry and let it consume you, or you could take a step back, take a deep breath, and decide to be the bigger person. You could choose to forgive, to move on, and to treat your friend with kindness and understanding.

Or maybe you experienced a huge failure at work. Do you dwell on it and beat yourself up, or do you shift your perspective, acknowledge what you did wrong, and use it as an opportunity to learn and grow?

The point is, it's up to us to decide how we want to react to the past. It's easy to get stuck in the same old patterns, but once you start to recognize the power of choice, you'll be amazed at what you can do. So, the next time you find yourself getting caught up in the past, why not have a little fun with it and see what happens when you choose to react in a positive way?

Hey mama,

We can’t always change the circumstances that life throws at us, but we can always change our attitude. It’s easy to fall into a negative mindset when things don’t go our way, and it’s even easier to give up and give in. But if we take the time to take a step back and reframe our perspective, we can find the motivation and courage to move forward.

I haven't really shared my story, which is coming soon but I am a mom of two toddlers (ages 3 and 2), yes they were born 11 months apart, yes they're both quarantine babies, and yes I haven't slept since November 26th, 2019 lol and it is so rewarding being a mom

BUT,

I was struggling the first year and a half with exhaustion, dealing with grief (losing my dad to cancer), and losing myself as a new mom of two cute but rambunctious boys. Though I was trying to hold it all together, I could feel it slipping beneath the surface...

I had to make some changes and fast

Since I could not really change my situation, I changed my attitude towards life essentially and decided to choose myself so that my kids can have the best version of a mom, I lost 70 lbs in about 4 month( at the start of 2022 and kept it off for the rest of the year ) and living my best life.

I’m currently on another weight loss journey to lose the rest of my weight and more importantly focus on health, fitness, and loving myself unconditionally

And more will be definitely shared soon

Changing my perspective/outlook really helped me get to where I am today.

Learning to say “no” can be one of the most powerful tools in your arsenal to protect your peace. It’s important to realize that while it can be tempting to say “yes” to every request, it’s not always the best decision for your wellbeing or your sanity. Taking the time to assess whether you have the capacity to take on the request, or whether it’s something you’re truly interested in can help you decide whether or not to take it on.

The power of “no” can help you avoid taking on too many obligations, or getting involved in things that aren’t in line with your goals. It can also help you focus on the things that you’ve committed to, and ensure that you’re able to give them the time and attention that they deserve.

Additionally, learning to say “no” can help create healthier relationships. When you’re able to set boundaries and make your needs known, it can help create more meaningful and respectful relationships.

Learning to say “no” can be difficult, but it’s an essential skill that can help you protect your peace. Start experimenting with it, and you’ll soon find that it can be a powerful tool in helping you achieve your goals and maintain a sense of balance in your life.

Listen up!

Courage is an essential part of life. It is the ability to face our fears, push forward despite obstacles, and stand up for what we believe in. Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the willingness to take action despite our fears. It is the strength of character that allows us to take risks and overcome our challenges.

Oftentimes as women in corporate spaces and in general really, we lack the courage to speak up for ourselves...we are our own best advocate, so it is time we put ourselves first

Do you have the courage to seek rest when needed?
Are you courageous enough to say no?

If not, then the question becomes, what do I need to do to gain that courage I require to succeed?

Struggling to find that sweet spot between work and quality family time? This post is for you...

The struggle is real for so many of us BUT it doesn't have to be and honestly, there are so many of us that feel the same way...

Women are called to do so much and juggling that can be so tiring, overwhelming and not giving any of the things that we truly dream of when we think about living our best life. The thing is we often are the ones doing and being everything for everyone else while neglecting ourselves (aren't we great multi-taskers?? Look at that!) however, this is not the way to be living in this sweet lawful year of the Lord 2023...

Incorporating these simple tips can lead to a huge difference in our experience as working moms navigating motherhood, work and having a life outside of that... It is important that we have an identity outside of being a mom and our jobs...you were your own person before even becoming a mom or even having that job and even though it may change or evolve as we get older, we should be doing things that feed that individual, passionate side of you...

With that being said, let's recap the 3 tips shall we;

1. Set aside family time

This is some even I struggle with but I am intentionally trying to correct this... I schedule dates/activities in my journal and on my calendar ( both physical and google calendars).

2. Get organized

I got a little ahead of myself in the previous point that it really is important to organize ahead of time so that it is a priority.

3. Make the most of your time

Baby give them babies your undivided attention. I use to struggle with this but it is so important to be present for your loved ones

4. Prioritize

It’s important to make sure that the most important things come first. Prioritize your family first, then work, and make sure you’re setting aside enough time for both.

Stress is causing a lot of commotion out here...

Like stress seems to be having a lot of people in a chokehold and she is relentless. But did you know that there is good stress (which this quote is referring to btw) and bad stress?

Let me break it down right now...

Good stress, also known as eustress, is a type of stress that can motivate and energize you. It can help you stay focused and productive. Examples of good stress include getting excited about an upcoming event, having a deadline to meet, or being challenged to do something new. Bad stress, also known as distress, is a type of stress that can be detrimental to your physical and mental health. It can cause feelings of anxiety, depression, and exhaustion. Examples of bad stress include feeling overwhelmed, feeling stuck in a bad situation, or having a major life change. Good stress can help you grow and develop, while bad stress can lead to burnout and other negative outcomes.

Mom guilt is so incredibly real and if you are experiencing this, I just want you to know that the way you feel is valid and most importantly, you are loved

Also, this does and should not define you as a woman nor as a mother.

Mom guilt can be feeling like you are not doing enough for your children, not spending enough quality time with them, or even by comparing yourself to other moms. It can be difficult to manage, but it is important to take time for yourself and remember that you are doing the best you can for your children.

Cue Mariah Carey's " I'm gonna do the best I can with what I got!" meme ...

That is honestly the type of energy that is needed to help us overcome this overwhelming feeling. You're doing amazing sweetie so keep it up and follow me for more amazing tips on all things working mom related ( burnout, work life balance, getting over mom guilt, building your self confidence etc.).

Christmas is just two days away (can you believe it?) How are we feeling? A bit overwhelmed?

If so, then I only have two words for you...

Prioritize Yourself

Everything is going to still be okay if you disappeared (whether physically or mentally) for a short time.

In addition to the tips I shared which are completely risk-free and simply require you to choose the most important person in your life (YOU) here are 2 bonus tips as promised because I am a woman of my word

4. Set boundaries. Know your limits and don't be afraid to say no if you need to.

5. Make time for exercise. Exercise is a great way to reduce stress, and it can also be a great way to spend time with your friends or family. ( it can be a 20-minute family-inclusive workout, which I love doing with my boys btw)

By taking the time to prioritize yourself during the holiday rush, you can ensure that you stay healthy and happy.

And that's it for today's post. I wanted to keep it short and sweet because I want you to start putting yourself first and if that means coming off social media for a mini rest and reset amidst the hustle and bustle of Christmas then, so be it.

Happy Sunday sis,

For those of us who live for the holidays, it can easily become overbearing overwhelmingly fast.

But worry not because here are some quick tips you can use to avoid feeling overwhelmed during the holidays (Part 1)

1. Take Time to Reflect: Take a few minutes each day to pause and reflect on your day. Reflecting on the things you’re grateful for can help put things in perspective and reduce stress.

2. Get Enough Sleep (my personal favorite): Lack of sleep can lead to feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Be sure to get enough sleep each night, even during this busy time of year.

3. Stick to a Routine: Establishing a daily routine can help you stay organized and reduce stress.

4. Take Breaks: Don’t forget to take breaks throughout the day. Take a few minutes to relax, do some deep breathing, or stretch.
