A few weeks ago, I was asked to create the event signage for my sisters’ graduation party. They asked that I created signage to go with the taco bar, for their guest “books”, and for their thank you cards. Creating these items was an honor for me and I am so grateful that they entrusted me with having a part in their day! If you want to learn more about what went into each graphic read below!

When they asked for this signage to be made, they wanted to have something simple, that matched their theme, and explained to guests some of the key aspects of their party.
The nacho bar signage served as a way to not only thank guests for attending but also as a way to thank the restaurants who assisted in catering the event ( and ).
The guest “book” signage was one that was very important to me and them. Instead of the typical guest books, they had our grandfather craft them items that they could take to college with well wishes from all who attended the event. With this signage, we wanted to be able to explain to guests what the guest “books” were, what they would be doing with them, and thank our grandfather.
The last signage that was created for the party was for their thank you cards. To try to save time, they asked guests to self address their envelopes for their cards. With this they wanted to be able to explain to the purpose of this but also keep the wording simple for guests.
With all of this being said, there is so much that goes into creating and designing signage for an event that looks clean, professional, and fits the event. If you have been here since the beginning then you know that GladeRunDesigns originally started as a three-generation business that sold different handmade products. We allowed everyone in our family to create and sell through GRD. I did a lot of the work alongside my grandmother. She passed away and I quit creating as often. In the time that I took a step back from creating, I found a new passion I have dedicated my time to: social media and marketing. During my senior year, I had an internship with my high school's athletic department and that taught me so much about the very basic ins and outs of social media marketing. After graduating high school, I began my first year of college at Ohio Dominican. There I started working at the campus bookstore as a way to make extra money. I eventually began an internship there as the social media manager marketing the different products that we sold there. By my second semester at ODU, I added a second major to the Business Administration major I was already studying. In my second semester of college, I learned about an internship with a local nonprofit. I then spent my summer as the Social Media and Marketing Intern with NC4K, a local nonprofit that supports kids and teens fighting cancer and their families. After spending my summer with them, I was presented with a position as their Social Media and Marketing Specialist. This has taught me so much and I am grateful for all of the opportunities that I am continually presented with at NC4K.
All of these opportunities along with the courses I have taken in college have provided me with the knowledge and confidence to take on this next journey. I am so excited to embark on this new adventure and hope that you will be there to support me as I do so. We are so excited to share that we have a huge change coming to GladeRunDesigns, LLC. soon. We are excited to evolve this already existing business into something new. As we begin this journey into what we hope will be something that can last a lifetime, we hope that you will continue to support us in all that we do and in our new business venture. I am extremely saddened to be making this post and to be sharing with you all the passing of one of the members of GladeRunDesigns, my grandmother, Anita LeGault. This was extremely unexpected and making this post was something I didn’t expect to have to do for a very long time (ideally never but that’s not how the world works) so putting this all into words may have some errors, my apologies in advance. On Saturday, September 18th, we lost one of the brightest souls to ever walk this earth. She put everything she had into her granddaughters and in turn means she put everything into GRD. If it wasn’t for her, the business probably would’ve never started and I wouldn’t have found my passion, my life plan. She always inspired me to do the best I can and to put everything into my passion. She loved helping make the products that she did make and especially loved coming to craft shows. Things will never be the same without her here but she had big dreams for this business and I promise to make everyone of her dreams come true.
As of right now, I’m not sure what all this means for GRD. I will be taking some time to step away from doing everything that I would normally do. I think for right now, everything she made will be taken off of our shop and won’t be taken to shows anymore. That could change as we find what all she has made but for now I don’t feel comfortable selling her products. I appreciate everyone’s understanding of our family during this time.
Grandma LeGault, you will be so very missed. I love you forever❤️
Happy ONE YEAR business anniversary!!!
I can’t believe it’s already been one year since I decided that I wanted to try to sell some of my crochet. I would have never imagined that GladeRunDesigns would have turned into what it has! My life has been impacted so much since I’ve started GRD!!
There have been so many lessons that starting GRD has taught me that I never would have expected. By starting this business, I have grown so much as a person, came out of my shell, learned how to better myself as a person, how I can use a platform to do good, and so many more important life lessons that I’m not sure I would’ve learned had I not decided to start GRD.
In addition to the life lessons, this business has changed my entire life path. Since starting this business, I have decided to change my major for when I go to college next fall, to business. I also plan to minor in social media to help learn how to market for the business. I know it won’t be easy but I plan to keep GRD as a life long business and to eventually have my own store front! I want to be able to give other creators the opportunity that many other small businesses (Mimi's Vintage Pickin's, Community Grounds: Coffee & Meeting House/ Catherine Street Mercantile, Mabe's Clothing And Athletic Apparel, and Yesterday's Ewes) have so graciously given me by selling their creations in my shop. I also plan to have our own website in the near future and not only sell my handmade products but also my crochet patterns that I work extremely hard on.
I am more than happy to share that in the past year, we have shipped to 11 different states and 2 different countries! We have also raised over $100 for various organizations and charities. In addition to that we have also collected thousand of bags to be turned into rugs to donate to those affected by homelessness.
I want to say thank you especially to everyone in my family who helps me with all of the little details of the business and who are there for whatever I need no matter how big or small it is. And of course, thank you to everyone who has supported me as I’ve made the effort to grow the business whether it be buying something, giving advice, liking or sharing a post, or anything else. I appreciate you all so much , this wouldn’t have been anywhere close to possible without you!
I’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished this past year and I can’t wait to see where we can grow from here!! I hope you’ll all join me on this ride!🤍

One year ago today...
One year ago today I did my first ever crochet stitch. My mom had just found my great grandma’s crochet hooks and in an effort to pass time over quarantine she relearned how to crochet. I was watching her and I decided that I wanted to learn myself. I sat in my parents room between both of my parents for three hours and lost track of time completely. I just sat with my parents and let the time pass by.
The first picture is not the best picture we’ve ever taken but it means so much to me. If I never would’ve taken the opportunity to sit there with my mom I wouldn’t have ever started this business. I love that the picture can remind me of where it all started and the meaning of family in this business. It truly takes me back to my roots. This business has and always will be a family business. I am thankful to have this platform to be able to do good and make a change like I have been able to.
The second picture is the first thing I ever actually made (that wasn’t a blanket). I made these baby mittens the day that I finished my first blanket and that’s the same day I opened my Etsy. It is so crazy to see how far I have grown from these first mittens and see how far I have grown in this business in just a little under a year. I never would’ve expected that this would be the life path I would go on but I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
I have big things coming for the one year anniversary of GRD at the end of the month! Stay tuned!!
