Hey Savannah Friends!

I’m so excited to invite you to Tom Triplett Park this Sunday to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month! I’ll be at the main pavilion from 10 AM to 4 PM, soaking in the Caribbean vibes with some amazing Latin music—think salsa, bachata, and merengue. I’d love for you to join me!

We can take a walk through the beautiful park, check out the local vendors, and grab some snacks or lunch from the food trucks. Then, let’s head over to the pavilion to meet and mingle. It’s going to be a fun and relaxed way to connect with new friends and celebrate the start of this special month.

Can’t wait to see you there!

P.S. Come and meet some pups with Renegade Paws Rescue, get your dog snacks with Capone's Barkery.

🚨 Warning: This post might be a bit long, but I promise it’s worth the read! 🚨

As we approach the end of 2024, I'm reflecting on what has been a whirlwind year of outdoor events. WOW, WHAT A RIDE! We've had our fair share of ups and downs, wins and losses.

Honestly, I could write a book about the experiences we've had with these events and markets. Some of the behind-the-scenes moments would shock many of you! But what has been most challenging is the emotional and mental toll this journey has taken on me—especially after my battle with cancer. It's been tough, to say the least.

Here's a truth that applies to both business and life: "You can't please everybody. For every decision you make, someone will hate it or love it; they'll either applaud or criticize you." This has been especially true with these events and markets. But here's the key: never let that stop you from moving forward!

One important thing I've learned is that for markets to be successful, both the promoter and vendors need to be aligned with a common goal: attendance. Without people showing up, vendors can’t make sales. And without vendors, there’s no market, and no funds to advertise and draw in more people.

If we were to set up a market in Times Square, we wouldn’t need much advertising—it already has traffic. But if you set up a market in a less-known location like Tom Triplett Park in Pooler, where even some locals don’t know it exists, then you need a lot more advertising. This is where the vendor fees come in: they go toward advertising. Lower fees mean less money for promotion. This concept has caused a lot of debates and challenges.

There have been other issues with our markets that we are actively trying to address. Some of you are aware, and others may not be, but not being able to fix everything immediately has been stressful. I can only hope that with persistence and hard work, we’ll overcome these challenges. I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience caused.

If you’ve made it this far down the post, thank you for sticking with me! 🙏

I want to end on a positive note. I’m working hard with some great people to build a stronger community around our events and upcoming video content. We're also focusing on creating more opportunities to connect with businesses through our Business Socials and collaborating with several key organizations.

To everyone who has stood by my side and continues to work with me to achieve great things—thank you. And to my fellow cancer warriors, my heart is with every one of you. I know how tough your journey is, but you've got this! 💪❤️

UPDATE: What a great turnout to our first Social event! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this happen.

If you see this post and attended our event, please comment below on your experience because we got nothing but great feedback from everyone.

I think that what everyone should know is that our events are more than just meet and greet. We have a full on program of activities throughout the 3 hour experience. It's meant to have us connect from a community and personal level, than just exchange business cards.

There were so many new faces... again... thank you for coming.

I invite you to visit our website and add your email to our newsletter and you will be sent updates on our next events. Stay tuned we're coming to Rincon!

UPDATE: Ever since I found out that my cancer is in remission I have been non-stop go go go. It's crazy how some people glorify having your own business... guess what... sometimes it would be nice to just punch the clock, work the 9 to 5, and have your weekends off.

When was the last time an entrepreneur/business owner in the middle of ramping up a business felt like they could take every weekend off and just work 40 hours a week!!! It hasn't been me.

I know I need to take some time to myself and I'm working on it, but it's been great all the accomplishments my team has made. I am surrounding myself with some awesome entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations that really want to BUILD something.

Although I finish each day exhausted... it's exciting to see what we're putting together.

Someone today informed me that this month is Cancer Survivor Month. It's a time to celebrate and honor the millions of people who have beat cancer and think of those loved ones who are currently undergoing treatment.

It's not the club that I thought I would be a part of but I am now, prior to my cancer journey, I went through life rather healthy and never really thought about how cancer affects the lives of so many and now that my journey has changed to one of survivorship. I want to make efforts to keep supporting those that are currently in the fight and always remain humble by remembering my own journey.

I'm working on an idea for this month that I hope to share with you all.

Cancer Update: I just want to share with everyone that I am officially 2 years in remission. What that means for my type of cancer, which was Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma, is that I no longer need to get monthly preventive chemo treatments and I'm cancer free.

Although, we can't ever say never, the chance of it returning are slim.

Thank you to all of you that encouraged me during my fight and remember to always check in with those you love that are fighting this horrible disease. It's not easy!

I have so much to share with everyone and hope you all stay connected as I continue to share my journey through recovery and as a business owner and entrepreneur.

So excited to share... stay tuned.

Besides a recent post of Ammie and I, I haven't really posted much. The reason behind this is because I have been busy growing to markets of Live Like Locals. One of them is in Jacksonville, Live Like Locals Jacksonville and the other is of course, Savannah, Live Like Locals Savannah.

It has been really exciting because in both markets we are meeting extraordinary people, entrepreneurs and new friends.

In Jacksonville, we have been doing smaller community events with different activities happening at each.

In Savannah, Pooler, we are bringing the largest Mega Pop-Up & Farmer's Market in Tom Triplett Park in partnership with Chatham County Parks and Recreation.

It's becoming a fantastic journey that I hope many of you join me in .
Let's make good things happen together.

Cancer Update:

This week I traveled to Atlanta and had my one year PET Scans to see if I have and after spending the last few weeks filled with anxiety, I am happy to share with everyone that I am officially one year in remission. The tests came back negative.

For those of you that are unaware that is a big milestone, since reoccurrence could have been as much as 50%.

I'm excited to move on with life and make plans to live life differently. It's moments like this that you realize how short life is and you need to make the best of the time that you have.

Thank you to everyone that has checked in with me and have supported both Ammie and I during some really difficult times.

2023 is on it's way. The unexpected is yet to come. What surprises do you see coming?

I've heard several people talk about how CONTENT CREATORS will become the next BILLIONAIRES... yeah... you read that right... BILLIONAIRES.

In the early 1900's we had banking and finance. Then I feel that tech and programming came in and it created Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Apple and many others.

Can you imagine, Mr.Beast may be on his way, if he isn't already the first content creator that becomes a . That's incredible, becoming a billionaire by creating video content.

I never thought I would say this but I'm about to launch my first video podcast in 2023 and the goal is to stay consistent producing content. Yeah, the first few videos may not be the best but I need to start somewhere.

The truth is that any brick and mortar, typical , can become a . They just need a good team and a creative idea.

What would be your content idea, if funding it wasn't an issue?

How many customers does a good restaurant see in a given month? Would 3,000 customers sound about right? 100 customers a day? It's probably more than that.

But just imagine if they captured 2000 emails each month. At the end of one year they should have a database north of 24,000 emails. At the end of 3 or 4 years of being in business one restaurant can have a database of nearly 75,000+ emails.

When I speak to independent restaurant owners, some of which have multiple locations, they haven't even considered or started an email strategy like this. But yet, they're spending on other forms of advertising that are bringing no results.

In my opinion this can be extremely valuable, to have a database of real customers, that you actually acquired, that have experienced your restaurant? Say only 4% of those customers responded to an email that convinced them to return or purchase something from you, that's 3,000 sales per month.

What other industries can benefit from this strategy? Can you see the benefit of creating an email marketing strategy?

28/12/2022

70k to 100k is still not enough! It may sound crazy but it isn't. In most cases, after taxes and benefit contributions, you're lucky to bring in 4k to 6k per month. Take in the fact that in just housing, we can easily spend $2,000 to $2,500 per month... what does that leave you with?... NOT ENOUGH!

In my opinion, the typical job description is changing, not only do people not want to work 9to5 chained to a desk but they don't want to be limited in what they earn.

Many high-end office jobs can be done remotely. not saying that there shouldn't be times in the week where, if there is an office, you should go in to work with the team. But much of the work can be done on the employees chosen time.

Let's face it. If a project has a deadline and it's not met, the employer knows you weren't working. No need for micro-managing.

There are people currently working 2 remote jobs, each paying 80k+, and getting the work done! And in some instances the employers don't even know.

I for one do digital marketing work, but guess what, in most cases and most jobs that companies need to fill, the job CAN'T be done with just one employee. I personally project manage my clients work with the help of other independent contractors or what many are calling these days "gig" workers.

Companies with multiple employees need to start pivoting and realizing there is a new way to work with employees. I see dozens of job descriptions out there that my team can handle but companies rather pay "low" wages and see people quit after just a few months for better opportunities.

Thoughts? Comments?

Websites are going to become more important in 2023! only provides pieces of information, it's like hearing just part of a story but not knowing the whole truth.

The rest of that information should be in your .

How often are you updating your website? Has your home page changed in the last 6 months? or has it been more than a year?
