Hey Martiln, can you tell us about yourself as an artist and the kind of music you make?

Hey! So I’ve been making electronic music for the last 9 or so years in various different forms, and over the course of the Martiln project I’ve made a bunch of different styles of music. Over the past 2 or so years though I’ve really honed in on my love for really hard-hitting EDM and bass music, and it feels great to be making and releasing music that I align with so much! I’d say that the music I make combines elements of genres such as trance, dubstep, future bass, trap, drum n bass and pop into lush, hard-hitting and emotional tracks that take the listener on a sound-driven journey.

What’s the music scene like in Australia?

The music scene here in Australia, particularly Melbourne, is super diverse! There’s not a massive bass-music scene, but Melbourne is such a vibrant city with a vibrant musical culture that I’ve had the pleasure to be a part of for many years. I don’t have a lot to compare it to in terms of other cities and countries, but what I love about it is that there’s really something for everyone here.
If you went on tour, what countries would you go to first?

I’d love to of course check and and play some shows in the US! Over the past year or so I’ve met a bunch of really cool people from all over the world through social media, and a lot of them are from the US, so it seems like a logical place to go and play some shows. I feel like it would also be cool to play some shows a bit closer to home in South-East Asia as well, as I think it’d be a load of fun!

What are your next steps as an artist?

At the moment I feel like now that I’ve really discovered my sound, I’m going to try and focus a bit more on my aesthetic. I have some really big things coming hopefully sometime later this year as part of a new project I’m working on over at .universe that I can’t wait to share and I think will really start to tie everything I’ve been doing and everything I want to do together a bit more, including aesthetic. Once shows start to come back a bit more I’d also love to start getting my chops back up and playing live, because I find it such an amazing and exhilarating experience that I really miss, and hopefully I can start to play to some bigger crowds!

Hey Clozvre, how long have you been making music? Can you tell us a bit about your journey leading up till now?

Hey hey, I've been making music on a computer for about 17/18 years. I started at age 7 when I was attending the boys and girls club after school program. They had a computer lab and some of the computers had Sony Acid Screenblast 4.0. I would make songs and burn them to CDs for my friends. My biological father built me a PC with Reason 1.0 and Rebirth RB-383 installed and sent that to me along with a midi controller for my 8th birthday. Since then I’ve spent almost everyday making music. Before this at like age 6, I used to route my casio keyboard into my stereo and record my ideas on cassette tapes. As far as my journey goes, it's a very long and complex story haha not sure how I would fit it all here... alot happened, good, bad, and hideous. But from ages 15 - 18, I produced for a lot of major label artists, TV/Film, and even worked at Mac Miller's home studio. This and SO much more. But a lot took place internally and externally that affected me. Mental illness played a huge part. Things got really, really bad. I also realized that this wasn't the direction I wanted to go in with my music anymore. In 2015, I went off the grid and re-focused on making music that stood on its own instead of music for other artists. In late 2018, I created CLOZVRE and started releasing music officially for the first time. I'm having more fun now with music than ever!

Where do you find the motivation to put in so much effort into your music projects?

For me, music is the only thing that gives my life purpose. Also, I just really love it. It's the only thing I've ever really cared about and it's the only thing in this f*cking psychotic world that makes any sense to me.

What if you could pick two opening artists for a show you were headlining, who would they be?

I would pick my homie who goes by Xarhia and a friend I met online who goes by ULIIIZAER. They both make incredible music and are just solid individuals.

What can we expect from you in the next year or two?

I am going to do an album in 2022. I might make it an Audio/Visual album, we'll see.

Hey Prophectical, can you tell us a little about yourself and how you would describe the music you produce?

Hi! I'm a student and I make music in my free time under the alias Prophectical. I am a very introverted person and I had been looking for a way to express myself freely until I discovered music production. I feel making music is the only way I have to convey what I feel and think without limitations, words are often misunderstood or misused, whereas music is pure emotion, and my music is just this: emotions I am feeling at the time of writing that specific track. I mainly write midtempo bass music, but I don't really like to conform to a single specific genre as I just vibe with the flow!

What do you think is important for a producer just starting their career?

I think whoever starts getting into music should try and learn as much as possible, listen to music as diverse as possible (because inspiration comes from everywhere, even if you're not expecting it to be there), and don't be afraid to ask for feedback. Of course the first tracks starting producers make won't be as good as the ones they'll be making in a year's time, but growth is only possible through confrontation with others. Plus, we've all been there! So yeah, keep as much different sources of inspiration as possible, ask for feedback more often that you feel is right and learn as much as you can.

Can you tell us about any big projects you’re working on currently?

For sure! I'm working on an EP, which will drop this coming April, and a collab with my friend which will be dropping this March! You better not miss these :)
Apart from these big things I've got a couple singles I'm finishing up and some collabs too. During the summer holidays I also want to get my YouTube channel started, record some tutorials maybe!

What artists or labels do you follow for inspiration?

Oh, a lot.
My favorite band is Interpol, I don't think I spend a day without listening to a track of theirs. Then I really like Radiohead and Fontaines DC, Rammstein and System of A Down too on the heavier side.
As for electronic music, I really like Rezz and 1788-L, 2015 Porter Robinson, Madeon and k?d.
