Ending the year on a frozen note. 2020 has been a mixed bag to say the least, but there have been some note worthy moments and I am thankful for so much. For starters, we wrapped up a two year project north of Denver so the commute is much shorter, and the scenery is much nicer🏔 I am thankful for a good partner Jake Yaden who locates well, and doesn’t crash me into utilities, marked or not. Together we are the most productive and skilled drill crew of the group. Accomplishing more in 8 hours and drilling further than most could hope to do in 12. Sorry, just the facts. Thanks for following along, here’s to a better and brighter 2021. Remember, no one cares work harder 💀 @ Drilling Jobs

¡Bienvenido a Lakewood, Colorado!💥
Just swerve south on I-25 then head west on 6th ave, and you will find yourself at the base of the foothills west of Denver ⛰ Not quite as busy, and the view is a whole lot nicer than that of the burbs in the north east quadrant of the Denver metro area.

This is the best time of year to work. You are not sweating your ass off clinging to a sliver of cloud cover while the heat blows off the engine compartment. It’s not too cold, and your not worried about getting your hands wet while reaching through 4 layers of insulated trousers. Just a light shirt and the uninsulated leather gloves. Be sure to wash your hands 🙌🏽 have a safe week out there 🔨💥💀

Coming up on the end of a two+ year, 90 mile install, of fiber. This rig had one hour on it when we started, and it is pushing 1700hrs now. Headed to the west side in the near future for an extended project. Stay safe out there 💥🔨 💀

Stringing it out this morning. Sometimes you just can’t get the reel where you need it... this ever happen to you? Me personally, I prefer to have the pipe coming off the reel over the top. I find that in a tight spot you have more dexterity and can generally pull of the reel. However, if the pipe is coming off the bottom of the reel, you are limited to lining up directly behind and in line with the steel. Thoughts?

Change is in the air. We had a shortened workweek, due to a late-summer snowstorm and cold snap that blew through Denver, this week. Good thing, because this place is getting weird. I am the last man standing after 2 years of the original group that was hired when this office opened. Does that make me the smartest or dumbest guy? Hard to say at this point. But I am curious to hear if there is this much drama, and turnover where you work, or is this place just a total s**t show 🤷🏽‍♂️

When that drill mud is just right👌 new product we have been using, and it has been really great stuff. Nice open holes, keeps the beacon cool in hard ground, and the rods are clean on the way out.

Let’s do the dang thing again. Starting off the week baking in the sun, with an uphill battle. It was a bit treacherous maneuvering the top-heavy, narrow tracked Jt20 onto the side of the slope, but we made it without incident. With a little luck and some decent ground, hitting the target should be a breeze.

Just a little tightening up, of the front end of the rig this morning. The flex on the nose of the drill causes the bolts that hold it together, to loosen when we set her down, requiring us to tighten them daily. We put an end to that today. Nothing a little 7018 can't remedy.

Nearing completion of a major upgrade to the local school district. This project is well into three years, and the end is in sight. For the final stretch, working in open spaces, with a large right of way, no foot traffic and minimal crossings, is a nice break from the cramped and busy suburbs. Nice job gents, stay casual 🤙
