Sharing my experience grinding my rank.
After the placement, I was put on Gold2 by the system. After countless of games, im currently at Plat3. I noticed that some of my games gain higher exp than others. Some of the factors i've seen that affected the rating gain is
A.) Personal performance.
This one is self explanatory. Gaano ka kagaling maglaro at ano ang ambag mo sa team nyo?
KDA - A positive KDA(meaning mas madami ka kills kesa deaths) definitely gives more points than a negative one. Even more so when you have multikills in a round(they record triples, quadras, and ofc, ace kills). Nakikita ito post match sa Summary tab. It also shows the Damage per round, Kill per round, and First bloods.
Skills used - napansin ko na after every round, maliban sa mga kills or death mo, ipinapakita kung kelan ka nag skill. Ipinapakita din ang effectiveness ng skill na ginamit mo. If you used a vision blocker, it records how many enemies' views were effectively blocked. This also goes with buffs like Brimstone's Stim beacon which records how many allies you 'Stimmed'
B.) Team Performance.
Again, it is self explanatory. Paano kayo nanalo(or natalo), ilang rounds ang ipinanalo nyo? Ilang beses nyo na wipe out yung kalaban? Ilang beses kayo nakapag plant/defuse ng spike? Ilang beses kayo nanalo with less resources than the enemy?(at the post match screen under the Timeline tab, there are vertical bars near the top of the screen showing the resources of the team during that round.)
There are more factors that come into play when it comes to the amount of rating points you gain or lose. Sadly, kapag natalo ka, it only shows either a red arrow down or the dreaded derank arrow(encircled red arrow down). Isa din ito sa mga kinatatakutan ko kasi hindi ko alam kung gaano kababa yung ibinaba ng points ko kapag natatalo ako. Isa pa sa mga napansin ko na factors when it comes to ranking up is that i gain a more significant amount of points when i am put against a team with higher ranks. I say this because when i went against a team with an Immo2, i immediately ranked up when we won the match (thankfully magaling mag buhat yung mga nakalaro ko).
Disclaimer: I started playing valorant less than a month ago and i am no expert in any aspect of the game whatsoever. Hindi din ako sure kung 100% accurate yung mga pinagsasasabi ko. Im just hoping that this could help someone climb up the rankings.
