I grew up entrepreneurial-minded, at 6 years old I was was a money-saving machine, and at 8 I was collecting recycle cans in the neighborhood to buy my first b
ike. Once I hit the "real" working world as a young adult, I became obsessed with running a business for myself. I didn't want to have a boss that didn't appreciate me, especially while making less than $15 an hour as a manager at Domino's Pizza. But once I got married, I took a few years off from working my tail off to raise a family, until the unsettling realization came in that I felt like I was meant for more. Deep down I felt like I was meant to change something or make an impact. Fast forward to 6 or so failed "business" attempts (God bless my super patient husband!), I tried everything to "go viral" on social media to make it big like everyone else I was seeing. I was determined to find SOMETHING I could do that I truly enjoyed and could make good money, without a college degree. I was SO frustrated with the job market! There was 1 job for every 50 military spouses overseas. Remote jobs were hard to get because of the time difference and most jobs on base paid less than $10 an hour. Until one day...I met a lady in a military spouse job networking group who offered me a contracting position, she offered to find me clients (which ended up only being 1) and I would get to pick my rate. I was super skeptical at first because I had no idea what virtual assistance was at the time, but I tried it anyway. Little did I know, my whole world opened up. After I finished my client's project, I became addicted to helping entrepreneurs. I realized that my failed business attempts were not because I didn't care about the work I was doing, but because I was running a 1 woman show. I needed support...It was impossible to do IT ALL and be able to focus on amazing customer service and relationships. It felt like no one knew what I was going through and no one understood the struggles I had to get there as a military spouse. That's when I started Cadensi. I began supporting military spouses and veteran entrepreneurs to get organized and streamline their workflows. They had someone who knows what they're going through, helping them along the way. Giving them feedback and encouragement. But I knew I couldn't stop there, I had clients complaining to me about other aspects of their business that just gave them pure anxiety. So I set out to become a social media strategist! I learned about everything I could get my eyes on to manage and create killer business pages and actually, successfully, bring their dream clients to it to increase growth and profit.
