I am looking at the 52 Week Football training and the work required as outlined, Well, it's designed for individuals whom are already in the season, come November and I can not hit a the timed minute mile just yet, and the material in the book is copyrighted, so I will be changing up the actual exercises, but having some kind of record of work done and a general idea of what should be done will provide a great start on developing a plan that's right for me. Always speak to your own physician before making any major lifestyle changes.

The other book I was lucky enough to find was the "52 Week Football Training" A proven plan for Strength, Power Speed agility and performance by Ben Cook, MA CSCS, Yes, The Ben Cook, the Strength and Condition Coach for the University of North Carolina. This book is a literal game plan for individuals whom want to train like the professional college athletes. The book, illustrates and describes excercises, offers a daily workout example of excercises and illustrations of how the excercises look, when done properly. This book is also published by Human Kinetics and the ISBM is 978-0-7360-0085-7

Research and Do your Homework! Anything you do, especially something as important as fitness requires understanding of what you are doing. fitness and biology, nutrition, the power of sleep and hydration all play roles.

Two of the most important books I have picked up recently are " Physiology of Sport and Exercise Third Edition by Jack H. Wilmore and David L. Costill Some of the Topics include "Cardiovascular and Respiratory Function and Performance", Optimization Performance in Sport", And a Specific Section specifically in Nutrition and Sport, covering the Six Nutrient Classes and The Athlete's Diet. This book is Published by Human Kinetics. The ISBN is 0-7360-4489-2

Stap 1: Develop A Plan, Have a Reason Why - What Motivates You? Can you afford the plan and do you have time?

I want to go into this eyes wide open and with a plan, that was part of my reason this Day Zero to meet with the manager of the gym. I made an appointment with the local trainer, and looked at the expense of what a gym membership would be, realistically looked at the investment in my health and quality of life. I came to an understanding that this was not a short term get slim quick project and is much more complex then the plans I had in the past.

Day Zero: 12/4 The On-boarding day. Any good project needs some prep. I visited the local Planet Fitness gym and learned about the facility, trainers, and what to expect from their approach to fitness, the circuit they have and the general attitude and culture. I am not a lunk. The words I use are my own and I am not fake, am no better then anyone else. The words and purpose of this adventure is mine and it is what I make of it. If you find humor, inspiration, in what I am doing great! please feel free to share your experiences and feedback.
