Anna Sharpe-Jones is one of our four headliners appearing at Real Talk on Thursday 14 April

Anna is a freelance multidisciplinary artist, including: actor, writer, theatre-maker, performance poet, children's entertainer, singer, director, workshop facilitator, English/Drama tutor & life model. She started writing poetry in Lockdown #1 & began performing live in Aug '21. Her first poetry show 'Between the Lines' was featured on Ashfield Arts, Bulwell Arts & Upbeat virtual festivals in '21. She made her national poetry debut with her poem, '(Comm)Ode to a Care Worker', which was aired online & across BBC radio stations as part of BBC Upload Festival '21. That year she was also selected to compete in her first slam as part of Derby Poetry Festival & was placed 3rd. She is due to do her first featured set at Real Talk & intends to revise her virtual show for live performance to take to festivals & events this year.

Another performer at the next Real Talk on 14 April is Matthew Fowler.

My name is Matthew J Fowler.
​
I am a motivational speaker for people who are on the Autism Spectrum.
​
My journey started when I began writing and performing poetry since I was a young adult. Writing has always been my way of processing my experiences of Autism ADHD and Albinism.

In February 2020 I published my first collection of poetry called A Different Kind Of School on Amazon.
​
In 2011 I began attending local poetry nights around the East Midlands in Derby Nottingham and Leicester. I have also performed my work at many events across the country with a Learning Disabilities Charity called Mencap.

I also write a regular blog and now run my own motivational workshops that enable people on the spectrum to live a better life
