🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱 81 years ago, the Poles defeated the Germans at the Battle of Monte Cassino - one of the largest, toughest and bloodiest land battles in Europe during the Second World War. Today, we pay tribute to all the Polish soldiers who, in those days under the Italian skies, fought for the freedom and dignity of Europe, but above all for an independent Poland.
The soldiers of the 2nd Polish Corps under the command of General Władysław Anders, by capturing Monte Cassino, opened up the road to Rome for the Allies, the road to the liberation of Italy.
When a white and red flag appeared over Monte Cassino, a soldier of the Polish Army, Emil Czech, played the bugle call of St. Mary's at noon, exactly the same one that resounds in Kraków.
Today, Poland is a proud and strong country open to the world, which remembers to whom owes freedom - she is built on the ashes of soldiers who did not hesitate to give their lives for their country.
