✨ Motherhood ✨

Last week we were struggling with tantrums, low patience, and no naps. And it was so hard on my mama heart. I felt like I was failing as a mom and needed constant breaks.

This week I made one small change. I changed our routines to allow for alone time with each of my girls and it has made this week feel SO much better! I am constantly humbled by the gift of being their mom and getting to watch them grow each and every day.

At dinner we always say our favorite part of our day. Josie said, “my special time with mama” 🫶🏼🫶🏼

⭐️ Happy New Year’s Eve ⭐️

I am a sucker for fresh starts and moving into new chapters. I don’t really like to set goals, but rather just reflect + prepare for the year ahead.

Here are a couple of ideas you could try:

1. Look through your pictures from the past year
2. Read through your journal
3. Write out the big events or accomplishments from this year
4. Write the things you have coming up in the new year (vacations, weddings, family plans, etc)
5. Find a word or passage of scripture that you want to hold onto as a mantra for 2023 - write it somewhere you’ll see often!
6. Spend a few hours or even a weekend with your spouse to reflect and plan for your family in 2023

We're kicking off BROVEMBER with my brother-in-law, Thomas Steel. Thomas and I go wayyyyy back to doing high school musicals and marching band together. When I met my husband, Mike, I first knew him as "Thomas' brother".  Thomas helped launched Vineyard Finneytown, a new church in 2021, is on leadership for Revive Ministries in Mason, and works at an accounting firm. In his free time he enjoys photography, hiking, being active, and many other adventures.

What a WEEKEND!! Emmy turned 2 and we gave her a special dollhouse that I painted. My sweet hubby threw me a surprise birthday party that I never saw coming 🎉🎉 and then we topped it off with Nada + Mav City concert with friends. I’m 3 days into my 30’s but it’s officially my favorite so far 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

After a wild ride in my 20s, I’m excited to continue to mature in my faith, pursue my husband, see my girls get older, and keep chasing my dreams!! ⭐️⭐️

Today we took a page out of the playbook and made our first Thankful Turkey! I used to LOVE making these with my kindergarteners every year, so now I’m excited to make one here at home. 🦃

Every few days we’ll add more feathers to our turkey with things the girls love or are thankful for. Emmy has been sad in her bed at night sometimes so we’ve been praying before bed each night that she will remember that God, Jesus + the Holy Spirit are always with her. My mama heart was proud to hear her add those to our turkey first. 🫶🏼🫶🏼🥹🥹

And tomorrow they’ll probably say they are thankful for bananas 🤣

Motherhood 🫶🏼🫶🏼

In the last 24 hours I took the girls to worship team practice, picked up fast food at 8PM for dinner, got up 4 times in the night to comfort the girls, fell down the stairs the 2nd time, and then let them watch TV first thing in the morning. 🙈

It would be easy for me to feel guilty for the fast food, TV, and breaking routine. But the stronger side of me knows that sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to get through the day/week/month/season.

We made it through the last 24 hours and came out closer on the other side. Yes, we are tired. But we are also healthy. And our TV time was spent watching worship music videos on YouTube…so I think I can still call that a win 👏🏻👏🏻
