How do YOU set healthy boundaries with your small business?

I personally like to log out often. I usually log out of my IG accounts when I call it quits for the day (and for the weekend).

Batch content creation also allows me to “set it and forget it”. I personally use the app to schedule posts to automatically post for me.

That way, I don’t have to create content and come up with a caption and hashtags in the moment every time.

✨You owe yourself everything you’ve ever dreamed of!To chase your dreams, you have to take chances and experiment. It may not always be easy, but I promise the journey is worth it.

✨One of my favorite books is “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway” by Susan Jeffers if you need some encouragement of how to just go for the things that you really want.

✨Everyone feels a little fear when doing something new, but don’t let that hold you back.

✨I've always been creative and decided to pursue a career in the arts, even though many of my family and peers were doubtful I could live a "successful" life as an artist.

✨When I was in college, I felt it was important to not only learn my craft, but also learn how to market my work. I graduated with degrees in art (ceramics + graphic design) and marketing.

✨Then, I opened an Etsy shop, , while working my full time job. I've always been interested in crystals and the metaphysical world and decided to incorporate that subject into my pottery work.

✨Eventually, I decided I wanted to be my own boss. It was February of 2020 when I decided to quit my full time job and give my business a real shot. At the time, I had about 500 Instagram followers and 50 Etsy sales. But, little did I know, this was a month before COVID would hit the US... 😩

✨All of my craft shows and teaching gigs were getting cancelled for the year and I was convinced that no one would be looking to buy mugs during a pandemic. I decided that my only option was to work hard on my online marketing, focus on my craft to the best of my ability, and hope that customers would come.

🎉Within the past year and a half, I've gained 27,000 Instagram followers, have sold thousands of products worldwide, and fully support myself with my business, and I’m eternally grateful! 💖

⭐️It’s so important to have a growth mindset in life, especially if you’re a small business owner.

⭐️You have to be able to bounce back from failures and set backs and take something away from every experience.

⭐️Sometimes you need to hard times to push through and grow. When something doesn’t work out in my favor, I acknowledge it, be upset if I feel like it, and then move on.

✨I grew up knowing I would live a creative life, art is the only true passion I’ve ever had. Eventually, I realized I wanted to get a degree in the arts. Many of my family and peers were doubtful I could live a successful life as an artist.

✨In college, I always hated when I met someone new and they asked me what I was majoring it because it was usually followed by “Oh, what are you going to do with that?!” or “You must be getting your teaching degree too, right?”.

✨But they didn’t know me. I’m a passionate, determined, and talented artist who always gives 100%.

✨And now I am a full time artist. Maybe all of the doubt from everyone just fueled me to push harder, to prove it was possible.

✨That’s why I’m here showing up for YOU. I understand what it takes to be a successful artist. All I want to for my peers and clients to feel empowered with the fact that IT IS POSSIBLE for you if you’re willing to put in the work.

👏🏻But really…. It’s all about the hashtags and reels right now.

Make sure you’re adapting with changes of IG. Video content is your most effective tool in the IG world is you’re looking to get your content in front of thousands of viewers.

Try to create a reel consisting of 3-4 short clips (3 secs each). The very first clip should be compelling content that draws the viewer in. 💥

✨Before I quit my full time job, I knew I wanted to fully work for myself and saved a little bit each week for about a year and a half.

I took on side gigs and committed to more hours at work because I wanted to have a safety net in case things didn’t go as planned.

Before you turn your side hustle into your full time gig, make sure you know exactly who you want to serve and what your niche is. Define your business early on and stay consistent. YOU GOT THIS! 💪🏻

✨Believe me, I understand it’s difficult to not measure worth with productivity. I used to do it all of the time! But I realize now that I have to always put myself first. No matter how much or little I got done in a day, I know I’m worthy. And you are too!

💖If you need to take a break and you know you’ll be able to be a more productive and capable person after that break, TAKE IT!

💖Burnout is a major problem, and especially in this hustle culture we live in.

💖Sometimes we need to take a step back to be a better person, partner, employee, etc. and THAT’S OKAY!
