US EMBASSY FELLOWS VISITED EELMS
The Regional Language Office (RELO) Fellows from the US Embassy in the Philippines organized a two-day"Unveiling Synergies" Connecting Literacy, Differentiation, and Technology Integration Training Program. The program was held on January 13th and 14th, 2024, at Efigenio-Enrica Lizares Memorial School.
The training was initiated by Hon. Jose Francisco "Kiko" B. Benitez, the congressman of the 3rd district. It was attended by public schools in the 3rd district of EB Magalona, Murcia, Victorias, Silay, and Talisay, as well as the Division of Bacolod City. Talisay City was chosen to host the training, and Efigenio-Enrica Lizares Memorial School (EELMS) was selected as the venue. The principal, Ma'am Torena, expressed her gratitude for being selected as the host school but also mentioned feeling a little pressure due to the short preparation time. The training program was led by Ethan Penn and Steven Pegelow, who were enthusiastic about sharing different techniques and engaging activities for learners. They said, "It's our first time in the Philippines and Negros Occidental. We are ready and excited to be with you for two days." Both fellows are also teachers in Thailand, teaching at international schools.
The Unveiling Synergies training program was well-received by many teachers, who found it fruitful, fun, and memorable. The purpose of the training was to recharge, refill, and nurture educators' enthusiasm towards the betterment of their learners.
