O-D Mapping can leverage the survey's findings to create a comprehensive picture of Gelephu's
travel landscape. This data can then be used to:
1. Design a city bus network that caters to high-demand areas and encourages a shift
from private vehicles.
2. Reduce traffic congestion and air pollution by offering a more affordable and
accessible public transport alternative.
3. Create a more sustainable and efficient transportation system in Gelephu.
O-D maps would show where survey participants live (origin) and where they travel to daily
(destination). This would depict movement patterns within Gelephu, including student commutes
to educational institutions, civil servant travel, and movement of blue-collar workers.An example
such a mapping project for Gelephu can be found here.

The map overlaid with frequency data to identify areas where a significant portion of the
commutes. This information can be used to design a city bus network that caters to high-demand
areas. By focusing on frequently traveled routes, the bus network can encourage a shift away
from private vehicles, reducing traffic congestion and air pollution.

Lesson: Symbology of raster layer

Right-clicking on layer, in the Layers Panel, and selecting Properties, as it was done for vector data. There, from Symbology tab, select the Render Type (1) (Multiband colour, paletted/unique values, singleband gray, singleband pseudocolor, hillshade) with its settings (as it is here the color gradient and contrast enhancement). Eventually define the Colour Rendering as well as the Resampling options.
