Eid Mubarak to all celebrating this special time as we reach the end of Ramadan. Hope it's a time of light, love and joy for each and everyone of you!

What is Eid?

The end of Ramadan is marked with the festival of Eid al Fitr, at the sighting of the new moon.

This is different to the Eid al Adha festival two months later, during the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca.

For both festivals, Muslims attend congregational prayers in the morning and celebrate with special foods and gifts.

Among the joys of Eid is getting dressed up, wearing henna and meeting loved ones.

The usual greeting is Eid Mubarak - have a blessed and joyous festival!
