Sunset Quadcopter Tuning - Casual Cruising with FPV Drone
A few days away from heading out to a pretty big gig, needed to get some test flying done to make sure both the cinewhoop and cruiser were ready to go.
I'm not a master at tuning, certainly more work could be done, but getting both drones to fly so similarly to one another is pretty satisfying for me. One's a 6-inch freestyle/cruiser hybrid: the Diatone Roma F6; and the other is a 3.5-inch prop-guard cinewhoop: the HGLRC Veyron35 CR Pusher.
Sure, the Roma cuts through the wind much better and drifts around way more, but they actually do pretty similarly when doing a bit of slalom around the young teak trees. Both drones serve their own individual purpose, but if one of them has any issues then the other can pretty much take care of business.
On another note, 10-bit Hero11 GoPro footage is much more gradeable than 8-bit stuff. Still gets grainy when you push it, but it goes much further than before.
Sam Roi Yot Ridgelines - STRIKING FPV
Flew this half a year ago, one of the penultimate flights of my Roma F5 V2 before its untimely plummet into the abyss. It's not technically a long-range drone, and it didn't fly that far in this case, but it was my first taste of FPV mountain surfing, as it's so known in the community. Can't wait to fly more like this, but need a new Roma first - maybe a Roma F6 next time, hehe.
Red Cliffs of Prachuap - STRIKING FPV
Redder than most cliffs in Thailand, Prachuap Khiri Khan as a province seems to have a good bunch of interesting landscapes to offer, with these cliffs on the south side of their coast being one of them.
This video is a prime example of not having time to really scout out a path, nor the time to wait for the weather to clear, given the stormy seas and strong winds, which made flying here a little challenging and nerve-wracking 😅.
Nong Yai Wooden Bridge - STRIKING FPV
Managed to get some free time and travel the country for a bit, stopping by this Royal Project in Chumphon province, featuring a long and winding wooden bridge through the middle of a vast lake, as well as a suspension bridge which leads towards a viewing and feeding ground for deer, of all animals.
Weather was very windy which proved to be an odd experience over such a large expanse, but the Diatone Roma F5 V2 managed to cut through the air pretty easily with very little stability issues, instilling a fair bit of confidence despite the surrounding water.
