"I think just resetting and reshifting or shifting your mindset is asking yourself, always, do you need this? Do you need to buy this first and foremost? And then can you get it Second hand, or can you borrow it or can you like rent it from somewhere? That way sort of like going into that circular economy where you're reusing things and keeping things in use rather than using it and then disposing of it. And then think of like the recycling and organics and compostable as sort of your last resort. Can you reduce first, if you can't not get it. Are there ways that you can get it where you're borrowing it and renting it. So it's secondhand?"

I was homeschooled. We spent a lot of my youth driving all over North America, down in the Southwest in Arizona and New Mexico and in BC, all parts of Ontario visiting other indigenous ceramic artists, painters and all the while my dad is looking for different pigments, different rocks.

We were always off on side of the road, off at quarries or gravel pits, rock cuts, different places, looking for stones that had those particular qualities. And that was my favourite thing. I just loved looking around it, all of the rocks and the colours and the differences that could be found."
