UNION HELPS PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE AT RISK OF FAMINE IN SOUTH SUDAN
JUBA – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is grateful for an additional contribution of €11.6 million from the European Union (EU) to provide emergency food assistance to 3.9 million people at risk of famine in South Sudan this year.
The funding allows WFP to provide life-saving food assistance and nutrition support to millions of people in South Sudan and assist vulnerable families in a cost-efficient manner. Pregnant or breastfeeding women and children under five receive especially nutritious products to treat malnutrition or protect them against it.

“Families trying to survive in remote areas are already experiencing catastrophic hunger in South Sudan, with pockets of population facing famine-like conditions. Food insecurity in the country is now at its highest ever levels,” said Matthew Hollingworth, WFP’s Country Director in South Sudan. “The funds from the European Union have helped us ensure that no one is left behind.”

Berklee Announces Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry Leadership and Innovation Program for Fall 2022
On August 10, Berklee announced the launch of the first undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree program in the college’s 75-year history. Offered through the Music Business/Management Department, the Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry Leadership and Innovation program will start in the fall of 2022.

Berklee’s new Bachelor of Arts degree program has been specifically designed for non-musicians who have an interest in business and technology. Purdue trustees ratify faculty positions, award posthumous degree, approve resolutions of appreciation

The Purdue University Board of Trustees on Friday (Aug. 6) ratified two professor positions, awarded a posthumous degree and approved resolutions of appreciation for friends of the university.

The two newly ratified professors are:

* Senay Simsek, who was named the Dean’s Chair in Food Science.

* Richard (Mark) French, who was named the 150th Anniversary Professor of Engineering Technology.

Algoworks Organizes COVID-19 Vaccination Drive at its Noida Office
As the pandemic still prevails, the company decided to facilitate the vaccination drive for its employees. The objective of the COVID-19 vaccination drive was to get the Algoworks’ employees vaccinated at the soonest possible time and control the widespread of the fatal virus.
With the help of the Felix hospital staff and Algoworks volunteers, the drive covered 71 successful Covishield vaccination doses. The company sponsored vaccination for its employees, their family members, and Algoworks premises' security and cleaning staff.

Fujitsu and Digital Commodity Exchange Enter Strategic Agreement to Accelerate Digital Transformation in Global Commodities Trading

Fujitsu Limited and Digital Commodity Exchange Pte. Ltd. (DCX) today announced that they have entered a global strategic agreement to accelerate the digital transformation (DX) of the global commodity trading industry, including the trade of agricultural products such as grains and raw materials for manufactured goods.
