Have you ever heard of the "Rule of 3?" It's a general guideline songwriters use to make sure they don't add too many "different" and unique phrases to certain parts of a song. Two or three- like a counter melody in the guitar and two guitars strumming in different rhythms- is the general limit. Any more and you begin to run the risk of it sounding too busy and confusing.

Ever since record labels began losing more and more money to streaming, the 360 deal has grown in popularity.

Instead of receiving a percentage of just the royalties made through the music, the 360 deal sees the record label receive a percentage of profits from all sources of income, including things like merch and brand deals.

Every deal means something different for each artist, and it's up to you to see if this is the right deal for you at the moment.

Here's a simple answer: it stands for "Electronic Press Kit," and it's like a musical "resume" you'd send to radio stations, record labels, venue booking agents, etc. It helps them get a basic idea of who you are and what you do.
